What i would like to see is an ancient shield for battleships available in some remote system on the edge worlds. Like the armor upgrade which is based on nomad and order techs. Also torpedo's for cap ships. However like all mass weapons refire rate is basically increased to make it fun. Also more smoke maybe when a battleship gets in the red and is ready to explode. Maybe make tiny explosions popping up all over the ships before the ship bites the dirt. Just throwing my brain on the floor and seeing what i can think of :crazy:

arent all these explosive effects going to lagg everyone to death in pvp combat...?

oh and I agree, we kinda have enough ships... or rather, no we dont have "enough", but I believe we have a lot of redundant ones that no one probably uses.

Pretty much. We're not trying to concentrate on the explosion effects. Capital Ship Torpedoes and the like are all fine and nice, and indeed I have been after capship nuclear projectile cannons for some time, but fancying the explosion effects up on a battleship like that would take ungodly amounts of work and would lag the server to death.

@ Epyon: You are right. I made a lot of models, but i don't want the monopol. You may remember, when i sent my Co Dread model to you, to use some stuff from you like for your model. Never mind.

After 4.84 is released and Igiss or Unselie have made a list with needed ships, we should make a kind of a contract, who is developing which ship. Just to avoid two or more modelers are working for themself on one and the same model for a designated ship.
The same for textures, if there is someone just want to make textures only.
Also we can start a new discussion about faction specific ships, sold in their Guard systems and to replace some models from other Scifi universes with custom ones to become more unique. Exception will be BSG, because of the faction BSG, but Battlestars and Vipers may become faction specific ships.
Maybe the Mandalorian Mercs want to use the Slave 1 as a faction specific ship.
This all needs to be discussed and polled again, but not now.

Don't worry. Me only will take care about the ships no other will make. Exception is the Corsair Dreadnought which is close to be finished. Also a new Blood Dragon Fighter i have already finished, but will be submitted for 4.85 (was a special request).

At the end i can say i have a vision for a Discovery Ship Development Group of some kind. Taking care about all model development aspects. Every member will be equal and treated with respect. All modelers and modders are welcome, to work in a team and help each other in a more organized way.
Finally we may help Igiss a lot, by testing, doing the coding work and the equipment and get the ships buyable.

That's enough, and I truly won't have time to accept any more submissions for current mod version. Angel of Mercy is absolutely right about this. Halt your submissions until the next release.

What about systems?

I've already finished Omicron-74's edits, but was holding off to submitting so I could package them all and send them all together.

This is Igiss decision.

Omicron 74 is AW faction system, so you are biased as their leader. I can understand this.
Afaik it was not buggy, was it?
So it will not be urgently needed, but its not my decision just my opinion.

Dab: Depending on what edits they are. I hope you haven't changed the whole system. And tested what was changed...

If yes, you can submit it whenever you wish.

As for the Order ships, I guess they won't be present any earlier than 4.85.

Hmm then scratch that idea of more explosions. I would like to see the torpedos like the ones fired by the star trek ships Instead of the standard ones. Say photon ,quantum, and so on. Some effecting shields and some hulls and maybe some even just the weapons . Besides all this there is no air in space so why need smoke and same for the trails behind missles. The photon torpedos in star trek sounds more real . No one can hear you scream in space no air mwhaaaaaaaa. :yahoo::crazy:
