Ranseur has 950k Base Hull, a 9000k Plant and 16 Guns, while Sarissa has 820k Base Hull, 8000k Plant and 15 Guns. Ranseur is Less maneuverable, but it's actually Smaller than Sarissa, which makes up for lower agility.

On the Other hand... Sarissa is Damn Sexy, while Ranseur is an Star Wars Import. So, I personally go with Sarissa.

Actually, the Ransuer can beat the Jinkusu, even up close. Depending on the pilot of course, it's still a better ship, combat-wise.

That's nowhere near accurate (the Ranseur is nowhere near the best BS in the game, its not bad, but the Legate is greatly superior in a 1v1 situation, hell, even a very well piloted Zephyr can take one down).

The Ranseur, as has been said, has 950k base hull HP (just 50k less than the Legate), whereas the Sarissa only has 820k, the Ranseur has the 9 mil Heavy Battleship powerplant, whereas the Sarissa has the 8 mil Medium Battleship plant. I think they have the same number of forward-firing turrets (15?), however, the Ranseur, is quite substantially smaller (The difference is easily noticeable, especially when fighting other Battleships). The Sarissa is a bit more agile, but this really doesnt make up for its other weaknesses (especially its size).

So yeah, the Ranseur is, on paper, vastly superior, and in most cases, the same is true in-game. However, if you know what you're doing, you can be successful in the Sarissa, especially against the much lighter IMG caps (then the agility is a big bonus, though the size can be unhelpful in asteroid fields).

If you want a rating out of 10, I would say that the Ranseur is somehwere about 8 (when compared to every other BS in the game), and the Sarissa would be about 6 (again, when compared to all other BSs). But thats just my opinion, and I've never flown either (though I have fought against both many many times in a Legate, as well as other ships).

Also, one thing to bear in mind, the Ranseur is getting a new model in .86, and from what I remember, the new model is bigger than the Sarissa's current model. Quite a lot bigger. So it may loose its big advantage over the Sarissa, and become about equal in effectiveness. But don't take my word for it.

No... completely wrong.

Ranseur: Smaller, large powerplant, slow turning/strafe.

Sarissa: Large (very very very very large, fat even. Perhaps medically obese), meduim plant, faster turning, too large to dodge even with the faster turning. Useless overall.

The Ranseur is a better ship.
