Joining some low activity faction might be helpful for the community. After all they're fighting to survive and stay official.
Ofcourse if you want to meet a lot more members daily... Pick some hot faction that has a huge playerbase and lots of activity.
Then if you're just interested in something new... Pick a faction that you never thought of joining... (I never thought of joining Bundschuh, but here I am now:))
Overall... Depends on what you want from the faction you want to join. Unique RP, activity or just helping them out.

Ok, The virulian enclave is currently in the process of attemtping to become Official and we need new members that'll be active and assist in the process. The VE offers 2 great opportunities of Roleplaying and/or PVP. We;re split into two castes, called Corporis and Animus. Corporis are what make up the Enclave Defense Force, the more PVP end of things. And then we have the Animus, which takes cares of diplomatic, trading, and other missions. The VE are a Religious faction that has intesnive AI/Cyborg themes. Also, we are attemtping to become a larger influnce out in the Omegas.

TBH, you ignoring me or something? We are a classic disco faction, with a focus on role play, and a roster of experienced role players, many of who are disco veterans.
Corsair - Ever wanted to be an evil pirate marauder, someone feared and hated by almost everyone? Then the Corsairs are your spot!
Bundschuh - Ever wanted to go all diplomatic and political, but still be looked upon as the cancer of the fatherland? You might try the Bundschuh.
Lane Hackers - Be all technical about piracy, because you're one of the fellas that worked on the trade lanes. Also sniffing cardamine is one of the pass times you can have.
Golden Cs - Drugs, alcohol and lots and lots of women. What else could you want from a faction?;)
Molly - 'cause whiskey is always good and Dublin is ours, har-har!
Order - Be a space super secret agent type-o. I personally found it rather interesting.
[RM] - Zhe Kanzler needs you, soldat!!!!
[LN] - The president needs you, soldier!!!!
Junker - Subtile evilness and plans for mass corruption. That's the junkers alright!
