I like to divide the wiki in two main parts, the first one contains all articles that contain info about discovery mod itself. It includes systems, ships, weapons, etc.
The second part contain all the articles about roleplay.
The first part is about the content of discovery mod, discovery mod is in english only, therefore I do not think it is useful at all to translate the articles.
About the second part, it was agreed about a year ago by multiple wiki editors that no roleplay articles from servers other than discovery 24/7 would be allowed. And since discovery 24/7 is english only, I do not see why there should be any articles written entirely in other languages.
The wiki is English because the server is English.
The mod is released with English documentation, and all in-game text is English. The wiki starts as better documentation for the mod as it is distributed, then when there is a difference between the client files and what has been changed server-side, the server-side information (from the GC 24/7 server only) is used instead.
Those are the primary reasons why we've made no effort to translate the wiki. The other concern, which has already been brought up here, is that the admins already have troubles with people who can't speak English trying to play on the GC server, and providing documentation or even just the rules in another language would only encourage it.

Some say that he's a CIA experiment that went wrong, and that he only eats cheese. All we know is that he's not The Stig - he's The Stig's American cousin. Wiki sysop (admin-ish) | I do custom ship renders (and bases)
There is also the potential problem that supporting other languages might encourage someone to make a page in another language. This would leave the majority of the population ignorant about some new faction if the translation engine is unable to fully render an English version of said page. Anyone who has used translation tools on a semi-regular basis knows exactly what I'm talking about too. Certain local dialects and idioms are not usually programmed into the translation tool and therefor either fail in translation or are translated incorrectly.
This reinforces the standpoint that, being an officially English speaking server, all material on the wiki should also be based in the English language.
FUN FACT: Local English dialect of Wisconsin, USA: A bubbler is a drinking fountain of the type commonly found in schools and other public buildings.
RogueCharlie, stop exhuming dead threads. You're not Jesus, and you don't work for Dr. Frankenstein. This is the fourth or fifth gravedig I've seen from you. These rotting posts are starting to smell up the joint.
It's not like I went back any pages, this was right there on page 1 of the forum. I had something to say about the topic so I did.
As for exhuming old forums, you make it sound like I make a habit of this. Send me a PM with your evidence and show they were on page 2 or farther back in said forum, and I shall give you an apology. If you just assume things because you're having a bad day or you just have a bad temperament, then kiss my [CENSORED] and mind your own business.
