depends on what you want to do / use it for -

the Wii is great for playing with friends - but totally rediculous when you re playing alone for most of its game ( or those that i know )

i don t know the ps3 ... but the 360 seems to aim for a more "mature" player - meaning the choice of games is a bit more aimed at complex stories, handling etc. not so cartoonish colourful. - i wouldn t go for the technical stats only - but really for the games that you can purchase for it. for all i know - graphics and so are nice to have, but won t make a good game - solitair and tetris are fun, but look horrible for example.

Okay here is my consesus:

Wii - Next gen Karioke. Awesome in parties.... I have throuwn parties and it some times steals limelight from everything else.
XBOX - Owesome Gaming console (Limited capable of HD-DVD {going obsolete soon, dont waste money on limited})- PC compatable....Very PC like on the inside.
PS3 - Owesome multimedia machine..Current games dont look as good on PS3 copared to Xbox. Blu-Ray, next industry standard comes standard. BTW in 2 yrs Blu Ray will be 100 dollar players.... so choose what you want the console for.

I think that when people say that the X-box has better graphics, they are very poorly informed. When I got my PS3, I compared it with the X-box 360 to be sure I was making the right decision, and I can tell you, the Graphics look the same. And too say that the X-box is aimed at Mature Players, it really a load of Horse crap.

Both of the systems come with games that are similar and the online is great. If you going to look for what really suits your style, pick a couple of games that you know you will like, and buy the system they come for.

and the graphic in PS3 game are less beatifull because the technology is recent compare to the Xbox, and PS3 has less reliability problems, only minor bug that you can fix easily.

And I love the Wii, my brother has one... its a TON of fun to play. But the lack of "serious" games is going to kill it if Nintendo doesn't get its act together.

I personally am leaning towards a 360. Two reasons, Mass Effect, and the possibility of a Goldeneye port. :D

BUT if you have a decent budget you could probably get both of those for the same price as 1 PS3.

Don't forget though, XBOX Live is pay to play (and they're talk they are trying to make all computer games pay to play btw) but there is the silver account variation.

well i am personally a sony fan anything microsoft do sony can do much much better. but i must say right now the xbox is a much better consol for game quality AND game choice.

the ps3 in my opinion will not become worth the price for another year or 2. which is good to me because itl have dropped price by then and il have both:D

but yes right now Xbox does have the most graphically stunning game to date (Gears of war) personally i hated the damned game but the graphics no man can deny are spectacular.

Mass effect: what can i say bioware made it. only good western game creators to date in my opinion everyone else is just a wannabe japanese game development company.

project sylpheed: not so spectacular game but if you like very fast japanese style spaceship fighting with lots of lights and 60 missile lock on's its the game for you basically if you like anime and fighter sim's you will love this game

Dead Rising: probably in my opinion the best game for xbox for sheer size and content. the graphics are spectacular for the ammount that is going on all the zombies faces are pretty dang clear and sharp. and the sheer ammount of abilites and weapons is outstanding all in all one very complete game (infact one of very few modern games i felt was complete in every way)

now for the ps3

Warhawk: *Droolz* game is fantastic love it beutiful game amazing remake of the original. and a ps3 exclusive well done to em

Heavenly Sword: pretty generic game kind of GoW2/Prince of Persia Esc without the running along walls. though graphically stunning main char not so great infact EVERY char looks very sharp but not so great other than the main bad guy. graphics in that mans face are stunning. he looks very real at some points and the expressions he gives off actually look like he is lost in thought. (and has a very fun counter system) dont touch a button parry a attack and CHUCK weeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

one factor that needs to be looked into though microsoft WILL NOT be running xbox 360 for much longer. instead of EA building they're own machine they are buying the 360 and revamping it (personally i think this is a good thing) because noone is as bad for penny pinching than microsoft if they can get a extra buck for it they will (non rechargable controller, 70 quid wireless adaptor, 1st xbox didnt even come with a HDD and you had to buy a 15 quid 23 mb memory card). you might even be able to DO somthing with your gamer points instead of em just being there for show and hopefully they take away p2p on xbox live though i will not get my hopes up.

Play Station 3. Overall the system is better and while you are paying 100$ more, its worth it. It has better online games (Free online) such as Warhawk.

Not to mention, the quality of the games that will be PS3 only that are coming out in the next year or so (Metal gear Solid 4, Gran Turisumo 5) is STUNNING. No X-box game has this kind of potential, and If the people at Sony know what they are doing (Which I know they do), over the course of the next year, the system will be utilizing itself for its full capacity.

Did you know that right now the average PS3 game is using only half of the systems power, because of limitations, but once people learn how to work with it for its full capabilities, the games will be amazing.

Not to mention the amount of user created content that is coming out, such as for people to make their own system themes which can be downloaded right from the internet (using your PS3) and installed on your system.

One last thing, don't get sucked into buying the 360 for Halo 3, because I have played it and their is NOTHING in the game that was not new or innovative.

I WAS with Verg, Until I red Dreygon's post with all the specs and now i'm leaning more towards Xbox360. Even though from chat in school "PS3 has much more power" I don't belive it anymore.

not everything said by dreygon is entirely accurate. xbox 360 runs off 512 of ram funnily enough the G card however has some crazy 1gb ddr #. though the main point that makes the xbox less than the ps3. everything the ps3 said it has DOES have it but the software that it has is so horrible it cant get to the peek of its ability. in a years time you are going to need to buy a new card for your xbox may sound silly a gcard for a consol but i assure you it is very true. and many people who have a xbox will confirm with me it has major slow downs. MAJOR. mass effect's textures take 15 seconds to kick in before they do it looks like a old pc game with very bad texturing. N3 when you use your special move the game slows down so much its like im using bullet time in max payne. GOW that was horrible for slow downs if you run into the thick of the fighting there would be major slow down's. now onto the ps3. Warhawk game takes alot of power to run due to semi good graphics and alot going on. you can have 32 fighters in the sky firing missiles left and right and the computer still purs away. not to mention higher quality hardware. average lifespan of a 360 is a year everyone i know who has one more than a year old has a problem with it in some way. not starting up 1st time, reads a game as a DVD. one of my mates got the red ring of death. i can safely say the ps3 will probably last a good 2-3 years at the very least like every other play station

hell my psx still purs like a kitten.

all in all the thing that lets the ps3 down is its OS and software at the moment (can be fixed easily)

the xbox is entirely hardware which is a much worse thing but as i said on my previous post right not to this date the xbox is a better console if you dont mind worrying about it not being here this time in a year or 2

Personally I think the PS3 isn't bad, it perhaps will come into it's own soon enough. Try them all iguess it's about personal preference. Still like fishing boats, hot cars...better when your mates own them...when something goes wrong you can walk away. :P
