Use em in conjunction with screamer mines and the lightest VHF you can find.
Mine at the end of a joust, then flip, hold, missile spam and blast away with everything you have.
Works well enough for me, and i suck total balls at PVP.
gone four years, first day back: Zoners still getting shot in Theta :|
I maek a full missile loadout BD. It works...sometimes.
But generally, you can pull off a cannonball even with high server load, since that missile is a dummy anyway. 7k is decent damage for it. However, you might regret it if you get caught by CD spam.
Sucks to be a weight on the wrong side of the brilliance-insanity scale.
While missiles become useless if many people are on I must admit I have been killed by a missile LF in my titan.
Now it was in conn with about 50 people on and I didn't have much equipment or regens and it still took awhile. But I found that I couldn't hit him and he could spam missiles at me. I also found that a Firestalker is harder I thought to dodge with no cm's or cdt's.
In general missiles are impractical, someday this may change but today you might as well bag it.

The correct way to pirate
I once killed a Titan several times in Conn using my missile-LF. *Looks up at Yerland's post* Oh hi, Titan-guy!
Yeah, like he said, there were only about 50 people on the server, so there weren't any problems with homing on to the target. It seemed like nearly all of my missiles were tracking properly, and most of them hit. And yes, they were Firestalkers.
So it's not necessarily a bad idea to use missiles. Even when the server population is a bit higher, the tracking may not be as good, but you can still do some damage with them. I also have a Wyrm with a Cannonball, and while I don't get into many fights with it, it works pretty well for me.
So give it a shot. It's always good to try something out before dismissing it entirely.
