The NPC power supply items aren't infinite. They are "infinite" in the way an administrator shield is. The capacity and regeneration rate is a few orders higher than the strain you can put on it with a full-heavy-mortar-22-turret-Venator.
I have a fraps videoof essex, when there was like 13 indians and about the same number of |Sails near it flying around.
It was shooting battlerazors at 2.00 and pulses at 8.33, solaris at like 16 and primarys somewhere in between, it was insane. lol
also when nomads raided NY for fun with 3 marduks and an Irra, that station outside NY, the big one that isnt trenton. was going ape**** with the pulse cannons, hell even the planet docking ring was shooting them at like 6.00

22 heavy mortar salvo will cause a drain that can be noticed on the energy bar. I just wanted to say that counting on "infinite" or "invulnerable" is how admins get blown up. If you recall.

Nah, that's not how they get blown up.
Relying on their "administrator shield" and not paying attention to what is happening with it is what gets them blown up.
That said... NPC bombers, cruisers, battleships... those could do with a non-infinite core so they don't get free use of their pulse and razor onto infinity. I'd leave bases as is, you can move away from those after all. It's all set in the ship package that gets set to the encounter... bit of ini work, no more.
