' Wrote:Only point of concern is that statement. I haven't interacted with you in-game as far as I know, but you seem to have a good head. Just remember an RP searching for an excuse to blow up traders will not go over well. Make your demands and make them reasonable, and only shoot when the trader doesn't comply and all should be well. Might not fit the RP exactly, but server rules > RP. This is a bit of a stumbling block for the Marauder group I've been involved with as well.
Other than that looks good, have fun. You may also want to consider ties to some Junkers, who can haul the goods to legitimate bases, no wait, the smuggler IDs can do that too. Another idea for interaction anyway.
Renegades wont be making 'reasonable demands' our demands will be either a more well Role Played version of 'drop your cargo' OR if the cargo can't be sold somewhere nearby for a good price, then we'll give a 'reasonable' demand...
This, you may say, is unfair. BUT I SAY, it'll make traders use escorts, because then, a freelancer will be cheaper than just paying the pirate's 'ever-so-reasonable' demands. This gives EVERYONE, pirate/traders/miners/freelancers more to do ingame. IMHO
About Junkers, my character already used Junkers and interacts with them to transport 'found' cargo. With the idea of RR, more profit goes to the Renegades directly. 'cutting out the middleman' in a sence, but they will still be used from time to time. (say a smuggler ain't online at the moment)
I support this idea fully. Sounds like a load of fun!
My trader char was pirated by you once (bud.stenson).
I would also like to join as I already have a pirate ID char (though outcast IFFd - but that can be changed). What I like about it, is that it isn't an official faction, yet more like a loosely affiliated group that can interact with each other without any faction pressure.

Good, look for an application page coming soon mate.
' Wrote:I like it. I also started re-repping that smuggling ship I told you about, we'll be able to smuggler pretty soon
Sweet

tis all good mate, all in due time.
Heres the thing, we will be starting small, but if we get alot of folks, the RR will expand into all of the houses, possibly into Gallia after quite some time.
NOTE- If any of you have ideas to add, or more thoughts on possible problems, please please please, let me know, thanks n' cheers!
Well as you already sort of suggested, all names could be triple names that all begin with the same letter, like Rip Red Rorry, or Sam Sullen Sullivan.
It's not an official tag yet still slightly subtle (sry for the pun:P)
Ofcourse after a while traders would notice and metagame... but thats unavoidable I guess.

Your point is well made and I tend to agree with you. To clarify my meaning, I meant that your demands have to be reasonably doable by the trader to avoid run-ins with the rules; stiff or harsh demands are fine. Demanding all cargo in RP is good, there should be more cargo piracy IMHO. Demanding 50 million off someone who can't possibly pay it, or that the captain give up his life/convert to your cause (these are ones I ran into conceptualizing a marauder character) are things that won't go over well and the first at least violates server rules. These demands are either blue-message searching or borderline powergaming.
So, harsh is good, but not undoable.
All in all though, it looks like things will be well in hand. Happy hunting.
