I suppose I really expected the pirate factions to be a little more like the Corsairs treated us around the time of the Freeport 9 debacle. A little more "You better make yourself useful, or we'll extract that juice manually." I also find it odd that so many perceive the Freeports to be that important.

Most pirates have enough enemies as it is. They don't need another group that did nothing to them and actually are useful to them to let them down.

Also, independent pirates have a tough life. Besides Junker stations, Zoner stations are their only safe heavens. And most factions are quite liberal about the use of FR5.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

No Freeports, purates, terrorists, and us Order would have a hell of a time doing anything.

Most will not because,we depend on your nuetrality to survive our own brands of hell.

Sorry Gheis. Not even on my new unlawfuls ima makin' will I treat you badly.

Maybe you should make a ''Hey, people, as long as you're not pirating us right outside our stations then dock on of them afterward, nothing bad will happen'' notice?

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

I don't think I would be opposed. I can't speak for the other OSI HC, or the other Zoner factions for that matter, but we could talk on it.

It'd be at our discretion, naturally. I'm all for piracy when the demands are reasonable, as it engenders roleplay if both parties have half a brain between them. When I'm on my OSI, I'm usually flying RP cargo anyhow, so I can stand to lose what I've got. I'm not going to sit there and let a pirate run rampant demanding enormous sums from Zoners thinking he's going to get off scot-free, but I'd be willing to work toward lessening the fear of a FR5.

Would give the Zoner factions a little more to do in terms of securing safe movement through diplomatic channels too. If the pirates aren't scared to pirate us, they'll pirate us. Then we can open up some sort of diplomacy to prevent such, if desired. Make us work for our neutrality instead of just sitting on our Freeports and waving our epeens around about some poppycock NFZ concept.

We encouraged it in our new players, too. We used to have this in the OSI application packet:

Quote:As a Zoner trader, we encourage you to speak to anyone you encounter. Our neutrality provides us with some interesting opportunities to open dialogues, and our pilots in the field are the catalyst for these talks. As a trader, though, you will be subject to piracy and taxation. As I said, we are neutral; this does not mean that we are immune to piracy, however. Talk to the pirate first, pay if it'€™s a reasonable amount, and then power up the turrets only if necessary.

It's a necessary part of our roleplay. Traders create economic activity, which brings pirates, which gives the militaries something to do, which gives the revolutionaries something to fight. We all build on each other.

Just to put it out there. Pirating a Zoner every now and then will never get your FR5'd. To get an FR5 over pirating a Zoner, you will have had to do it to the point where the Zoner community thinks you are a danger to our community as a whole.

I'm not saying you can pirate a Zoner and then dock with a Freeport, that is a rule violation. One in which I have no qualms in filing. Though if you say pirated a Zoner out in the middle of no where and waited a day or two (if that) before visiting a Zoner station I'd say you are well within the rules.

I remember the days of Sprolf's Molly faction. The fact I knew they'd pirate me made my trips through Dublin exciting for me. We aren't saying every pirate faction should start gunning for us. If the role play fits we'd be more than happy to play our part. That is all we are saying. Gets boring out there without you chaps, or the fear of you chaps.

You really, really have no idea what you are talking about and you've completely missed the point of this discussion.

Anyways, I think Gheis' question was answered and our curiosity stemmed. Thanks and we hope to see some of you in space!

I pirate Zoners because they expect me not to.

Edit: Really though, I have plenty of unlawful bases to dock on. I just treat Zoners like any other Corp transport I see.

Speaking for Kiretsu; We'll pirate any Zoners we come across, except if they are heading to or from Okinawa. Unfortunately, almost all Zoners we do encounter are doing just that.

Factionized Zoners get 'ignored' because their faction connections allow for it.

Indy zoners is far more rare.

Although I am smart enough to avoid pirates to not even need to use diplomatic connections.

IRP they'd only be really used in situations where ur bout to die.
