The idea is good.

In fact most well known pirates should be working like this anyway. RPwise the hackers should be doing it 24/7.

But of course, most faction ideas -are- good. Now here are the drawbacks and reasons as to why it has a chance of failing, even though I don't play disco, my 4 years of experience will be talking here:


1. People will hate you and say that you're metagaming. Because, to the retards which think they know how to rp -more than half of disco- but obviously don't, will see it as metagaming because ''skype'', they won't understand that not all communications have to go through the forums to be legit.

2. Your ''proxy agents'' will be the reason of your ''originality'' because no one else as know it actually does this (even though they should), without it, you'll be just another pirate faction. And those factions are generally run by a tight group of friends, and won't be getting many recruits.

3. Your proxy agents will have to be people that play all the time, you have to give them some kind of fun. Sure, the gathering intelligence thing will work a few days or a week or two, but it's going to get really boring if you can't find something else for them to do, up to you. But once they're bored, your faction becomes just another pirate faction, and -will- die.

4. Since you don't have any faction background, I can't comment on your ZoI, but you can easily make it all of sirius.

5. I don't like the name. Not original, too mainstream, and retarded in my opinion. Yeah this 5th thing isn't as important, but still, just putting that out there.

Those are just the things I see immediately without checking your diplomacy or anything. And as to what you should do:

1. Do not give a damn about the hate people throw at your faces, simply pirate them again and again, make them rage, sanction and ban, less retards to deal with that way.

2. More stuff for your proxy agents to do.

3. Make a damn background, even if it's ''James Callahan and a few of his buddies which are all rich decided to be *******s and pirate everyone, then The Shadows just happened.''

Yep, I can see more problems and many more suggestions to give, but it's best if you saw them yourself.

Phantom clone without Phantom tech or ID. Nothing wrong with that though, as long as you remember you aren't the Phantoms and don't have the freedom they had.

You'll find your planned capture of capital class ships will more than likely be a fruitless road to travel. For a few reasons:

10) A Good SRP should be creative, present some sort of mystery and RP flavour to other players through ingame interaction, and should not provide a PVP advantage for its own sake. That is not to say the ship should not be fully capable of PVP. There just needs to be a lot more to it than the PVP aspect.

You've said this is a pirate/terrorist faction. Can't have more than three members if you try to get an actual terrorist ID (which the server needs more of!), one of which can be a capital ship.

If you drop the terrorist bit, other than a PvP advantage you've really no reason to have capital class ships, thus your SRPs would not meet the guidelines. Yes, other piracy factions have capital class ships; difference is their capital ships aren't exclusively for piracy, but also for combat operations against their enemies in their ZoI (Something you should think about).

Interesting concept yes, but I always thought the Phantoms were interesting too and with the recent lolretcon by the mod team, you'll find role playing a true terrorist faction like the Phantoms were suppose to be, very difficult indeed. Such is the reasons the Phantoms through in the towel.

Good luck though. I miss the Phantoms and if another faction can reproduce their enigma it would be great.
