Two turrets definately help on either side of a Hegemon. Due to the sheer size of it you will pick up stray rocks that float near the ship.

Otherwise small mining ships (super-heavy fighters) will mine faster when you a re filling up a friend or random person you have a deal with.

I suggest mining with mines cause mines can help mine several rocks just by using one mine, mining using mines will help you mine faster provided you have enough mines to mine.

I highly suggest Spatial because you can mine with two mines.
