You can prevent corsairs from buying it... Report them for OORP equipment/ships. A corsair SHOULD NOT use an IMG ship, as they fight the IMG in Omega 7! Unless Igiss changes the diplomacy to allied between the two (silly), corsairs shouldn't affiliate with the IMG.

The =CR= is excluded, as they aren't necessarily IMG pilots.

But it looks like the Corsairs (Infocard/news-wise) lifted the pressure off IMG so that the miners could concentrate on battling the Outcasts more. The fact, that the NPCs are blowing the cwap outta eachother is a remain of the 1.0 political situation.

OK, so we have members, and we may have a useable system, nw we need RP. I guess since no one steped up I will try to launch off the faction. If any one has history, politics, and good RP of the such I will need lots of resources like that, I will also need good supporters. People I can trust and eventually make into officers too, any good leader has a few good guys to have his back.

I voted 'yes' tentatively. I began RP'ing as IMG because it allowed me to remain 'independent' and explore - while still in RP. There does seem to be a ton of players online lately RPing as IMG. I added [IMG] to the names of some of my characters to make it easy on other players to know what I am from a distance. That helps friend and foe. Since doing that I have been getting lots of private chat messages in game asking me if there is an official faction.

I have a few commnets about faction creation. Keep in mind that the IMG is a Guild of Independent Miners. That is a something similar to a trade union or a farmer's cooperative. We do not work for a corporation in a strict sense. I have had pirates call me a "corporate lacky" in game and I always correct them. So the government of the faction needs to operate like a guild. We can have a guild president - but the guild members should sit on a council of some sort.

We also should not strut around a huge military force. Our miners/explorers and traders need protection and we do indeed have the CR. They see themselves as contract labor for the IMG. Our Albatrosses need to stay near IMG bases or patrol near rich asteroid fields while miners mine these fields.

In the game, IMG's diplomacy is complicated. We need to have a lot of discussion here. If you earn your IMG rep in the Tau's - you will do so by killing Outcasts - next thing you know you are very green with the corsairs. The corsair player factions have all been very chummy with IMG tagged/repped players - BUT if you run missions in Dublin and read the info cards, we are supposed to be hostile to Corsairs and "the closest thing to allies the Mollies have..." Now the CR and the UoG are at war. Hmmm. I believe the missions in the Omegas also are against corsairs.

Trading - Our "independent living on the edges of sirius" natures that the IMG is known for will allow us to be seen in many places in Sirius. But we need to keep the goods we ship plausible. I tend to carry supplies (consumer goods, food, water, parts) TO IMG bases and I carry raw materials - mined goods (niobium, copper, silver, etc...) AWAY from IMG bases. I land and trade with system planets - (but never red planets) but I don't trade with BMM (duh!) and I don't trade with bretonian Military and Police bases - because I feel the IMG should at least be 'suspicious' of the Bretonian Authorities.

I have many other thoughts about the IMG - but i am running out of time for this post...

well then a few Indie Corsairs i seen last night are in trouble, although i didnt take any SS, although on the other hand i did see an IMG pilot with Order weaponry


and Jazz, next time your in-game look out for the Endeavour, the Atlantia or my trader IanD (if NC has happened his name is "Canti-AlanD[T]) and we can group up to do a few things if your interested :)

for the first parapgraph, one of the other things we could do is maybe doing something the Zoners have done and have some sort of register and discuss things with all the other IMG members before making decisions, but its just a thought:)

and i also agree with the second paragraph, i myself am willing to escort IMG traders or miners if they require it and i have a fighter than is able to atleast fend off attackers while the trader/miner gets away safely. i would never escort 1 single trader/miner in the Endeavour unless there is atleast 2 i am protecting and hopefully would give would-be pirates second thoughts of attacking them (itimidation can be a very usefull weapon at times)


EDIT: also with the results of the poll so far we would have atleast 10 members;)which would definantly cover the required amount to make it official

I agree with you both about the military restraint(evn though I am a cap whore:P). and Being a seargent major in the UOG I know quite a bt about their politics. In fact it was a CR attack on ME tha started th war. But CR is not an official IMG faction, our treaty with IMG is unsteady, but there, only thing is that the Concul says that we should be hostile t the IMG sometimes, butthen h got ngry when I engaged some IMG NPCs. Ill get Doug over to this thread and we can talk politics with him.

Ok, Emerlist, should I add you to the list? And another thing should our tag just be [IMG]? Then should we have an additional tag added to that for cap ships and escorts?

Lastly, what about ships, for now we have the Albatoss, IMG GB, Talarca, Stinger, Civi ships(probly not the Border Worlds though).
