If liberty wants artifacts they can always try to buy them, Corsairs don't give a sheez who pays for sure. But I don't see anything like this from LSF or anyone there. Artifacts are just banned for some reason, perhaps those infected people are still in government since DO THE TRENT events )
' Wrote:Another reason they are illegal is because the Artifact trade is one of the Corsair's main sources of revenue. Cut off the Articfact trade, and you cut into the 'Sair's funds.
And i guess you didn't rad the first post? Why should Liberty bother about that at all?
Well, perhaps Liberty wants to assist Bretonia, it's ally, by cutting off a potentially huge revinue source for one of Bretonia's greatest enemies, the Corsairs?
' Wrote:Okay, as title said, lets talk on artifacts.
Lets start from the.. khm, start. What are artifacts?
Artifacts are, according to what's in info and in rumors, remains of some dunnow what a race that is long gone with no traces. For 99,9% artifacts are just some fancy crystals, stones and metal pieces of crap, but they are pretty rare so collectors and art-likers are up to pay much for having one. But here comes a question - why they are freaking contraband? Kusari - okay, they are not contraband there, but restricted to some IDs, kusari is well known of it's "own ways" so leaving it behind.
Rheinland and Bretonia are both having a pain in the butt area because of Corsairs - so it's understandable why they ban such stuff from market as a source of $$ for their hostiles.
But here comes a question - Liberty, why?
Blood Diamonds doesn't sound to be a problem, they are fully legal in Bretonia, Gallia (same as for artifacts) and Kusari. So what the different story about the artifacts for Liberty? From what i can tell there is no difference between a fancy looking diamond and fancy looking piece of stone and only thing that may change it is House being mad on it's exporters. Bretonia's system - Omega 3 - is being pirated by Hessians all the time but that not makes them to declare bDiamonds to be illegal. But in Liberty corsairs are not usually seen, I don't think Libertonians are running into Sairs at all so why they are banning artifacts (And Corsair equipment\ships)? This is hardly understandable part for me.
Why shouldn't it be the same in Liberty?
Artifacts are also a cash flow for their enemies.
Rochester.
And Liberty also very well knows that Junkers are not all shiny either.

And one of Rheinland's greatest enemies, the Corsairs.
Thou I heard enough theories here that would satisfy all the skeptics. By the way, since when artifacts are legal in Kusari? I never heard such before.

That could make sense... maybe in parallel universe were Cardamine isn't ignored by BAF, Kusari (Rheinland's Ally) are not trading artifacts, etc.
But in our poor reality, meh, i think, by looking around, that Liberty is too far from bretonia's problem to give a damn...
Even if they're made of shortbread cake the fact remains that they're now recognized as being both potentially dangerous and the primary export of a group of murdering thugs.
Yeh, I'm pretty sure Artifacts are illegal in all four houses. Kusari just chooses to ignore the artifact trade, just like Bretonia chooses to ignore pilots carrying small amounts of Cardimine.
Also, because Liberty isn't a douche. They know damn well where the artifacts are coming from, and they know the death toll that the artifact trade is responsible. They may be a society of money grubbing free trade lovers, but greed doesn't trump EVERYTHING in Liberty. Only most things.
