Wow! Lotta Xeno in here today!

I'm going to second the other voices here. The Black Widow is good to go, it's a real power hungry beast that sucks down a little more juice than it puts out, but it's not a poor weapon at all.

Actually, it's a great weapon! Could use another set of bicycle pedals to run the generator in my Eagle, sure, but the gun is pretty fantastic.

And, yes, I fly an Eagle as a Xeno.

O_o

Heck, do you hafta go into the basement in yer slippers to flip the breakers back on every time you pull the trigger?

Bet the ships to yer left and right lose power!

I typically vote for one of the two setups:

2 widows, 4 tigers

Or

2 widows, 2 tigers and 2 debs.

If your aim rocks mine, maybe you could get away with four widows. But, yeah, that's a lot of juice. Of course you can throw a missile or two in there as well.

If you're trying to kill players with one energy bar forget it. You'll never do it
, they dodge too much and shot you too much and are generally inconsiderate toa poor Xeno looking to score a victory for his cause.

Energy wise it's not the widow that's the problem, it's the fact you're mounting it on an Eagle, which does have something of a power outage everytime you threaten to fire four widows at once, let alone get round to it.

Ol' Doom up there, is a rutting good pilot, and Elgato ain't none too shabby himself, myself and Dusty come somewhere just below the Xeno Mascot when it comes to ability, and even we agree the Widow does not need to be better, just our ships and our skill.

The stats you propose would be great 5.33 refire, no power outages, great range, good projectile speed....where's the drawback? Secondly they'd no longer synch with Suntigers, and given most Xenos got at least two of em as well as the old Widows mine and Dusty's aim would sink into the floor.

In short no. Widows just don't need fixing.

I am talking about the proposed stats, and also, I have used the Black Widows myself and I think they are just fine

They are fine too in my opinion, I was just wondering which set you meant. That top set is Ludicrous, but I am just saying wouldn't it be nicer if they did have less power demand and longer range?

True indeed. I hereby hijack this thread in the name of the Xenos. This is now the Xeno private weapon discussion thread. Now we can move out of Ouray!

I use them as well, on my Eagle. A pair of these along side a pair of Suntigers works very nicely on hull, you just can't hold the button down constantly. You'll get about 17 seconds out of those I believe, coupled with the fact that the Eagle's energy really recharges quite quickly...they're fine how they are.
