For all my funky electronic needs, I have a PC.

Phones. Meh. Texting and calling and...nothing else. For everything else, theres a PC. (there are apps to play mobile stuff on a PC)

Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.

Well, I bought the cheapest contract free smartphone I could get a few years ago.

It's still WM6.5 so everything that I put onto it may be still called a "program".

I didn't see the need of something faster than GPRS back then, and still don't. If I absolutely need to access the web with it, it's capable of doing so (checking mails on a schedule and stuff).

With the cheap prepaid-card on it I spend roundabout '‚¬40,- per year on calls and internet.

Mostly I use it offline anyway. Of course I am not available while sitting on the toilet this way.
I'd appreciate it if noone was available while sitting on their toilet either, seriously. Calling someone and hearing suspicious sounds in the background really freaks me out.

The only thing that really bugs me about it is that it's hard to see the screen in the sunlight. I'd change it anytime for an even older device with a black and white LCD display, but there seem to be none. A little less energy consumption would be fine as well. If it's logged into the net I have to recharge it every three days, if not once a week.

This thing is all I need for photodocumentation, written notes, calendar, alarmclock and calls. It can read my handwriting without any problem.

But of course it's not fancy.

The program I mostly use is NoniGPSplot, an excellent freeware. I am doing a lot of cycling and that thing keeps logs of any important data and assures that I don't get lost.

On a four-and-a-half inch screen?

Yes. It gets better than that.

Like me.
I haven't yet found a smartphone that doesn't require a contract, which of course needs name, ID, address, and isn't usually disposable.
So, it's the pay-as-you-go phones i use.
Works great as a burner phone.

Ummm...virgin mobile, metropcs, boost mobile all offer smart phones without contracts.

I don't browse much, as is clearly apparent from my utter lack of knowledge.
*shrugs*
I use phones for phone calls, when I need internet, there's always an unsecured network around for me to use a tablet on.
I change phones every month anyways, not like i particularly care how epic/awesome/fancy it is.

Its nice to sit at work and go on the internet when there is nothing to do and all of the office people are hogging the computers so they can plant their crops, run their zoo, or check their facebook.

No, were not a productive lot.

+1 for laid back workplaces:D

Don't need to. I don't let Disco bother me when I'm doing more important things.
