Really important ooRP = helping new people. That's about it. Spouting rules should get an instant report, I'm sick and tired of people yelling, "You hit cruise! You're out! Leave for 4 hours!" and the like, in the middle of a fight. Nobody cares! If you feel the need to yell at someone for breaking rules, do it after the fight.

And yes, my last two posts are very contradictory. I'm in that sort of mood.

A few minutes ago in NY, I had a guy talking in system chat w/o the OOC about Star wars and its characters... It was so OORP... and some newbies were all saying ''lol'' w/o the OOC...

btw: please don't try to type the following type of signs in RP chat. -_- XD etc... unless maybe you put it between *ghsgs* so its a fast way to say that your char is laughing.

RP chat in FL is like speaking in a microphone

Although I don't think that mass reporting is a good thing...unless the rule breaker said that he doesn't care about the rules

Make a new law in Liberty that says any IC smileys or chatspeak is an act of terrorism, punishable by death. Applicable only to levels 40+. Players under that get warnings, but if they keep doing it..

Anyways, I'd really like to see this idea implemented.

You beat me to the idea... I was actually going to suggest that an official server rule be implemented banning leet, 1337, chat speak, txt tlk, or whatever you want to call it. I find it very annoying to see this sort of thing here.

Kind of reminds me of those cell phone commercials where the people are talking the same way they text.....:wacko:

I agree that ny is getting to be a occ chat room but order to do what you want:

1. check if they are under level eg -40
   
2. if under 40 then persuade them to leave ny eg mining or trading or pvp in Conn
   
3. over 40 report them after a warning is unheeded about ooc chat
   

but if they persist yes sanction them, I know Korrd has done that already so many times.

I've seen enough OORP chat recently that I've grown very tired of asking people to stop.
If I were to just SS anyone with OORP that does not seem to be related to emergencies, and post all the SS in a violation report daily, would that be a sufficient rule violation post? Or would I have to explain each picture?

That's what I would do man. Just post each individual picture in a sanction thread and if they still don't get the hint, do it again, maybe they'll get it after a few times of being sanctioned.
