Quote:Pilot carrying this ID is a Smuggler, who:
- Can trade in any commodity, and escort other smugglers.
- May not engage in piracy.
- May only attack in self defence, or in defence of an escorted smuggler.
- Cannot use any transports with more than 4,199 cargo.
Allowed ships: Fighters, Bombers, Freighters, Transports.
Now, a few notes:
- Only attack in self defence, or in defence of a smuggler you're in a convoy with, so not to make it better than the FL ID.
- No transports over 4199, so no battle transports.
- Larger cargo than the FL ID to give it a bit of a bonus.
I know people will say that the lawfulls will just attack you on sight, but realistically, on my smuggler, I sometime haul legal goods, and can then use tradelanes, even if they're headed for unlawful bases. It'll encourage smugglers to try and remain undetected, and I wish that when I was flying legal goods I could still get some RP action with lawfuls, which I can't.

It's exactly the same for the GMG ID as every single other faction in the game. You need max rep (or close to it) to buy the ID. A single bribe only puts you at minimum friendly. Thus, you need a double bribe, or bribe + missions, or lots of missions...
It's always been like this. Not sure how this is "Discovery" screwing up.
It makes sense, too--a single bribe is just to get people to be nice to you. It's not enough to get into the faction.
' Wrote:I'd say Junker ID since you didn't mentioned Kusari.
What if you wanted a smuggler who's not part of a faction though... I mean, smuggling is one part of the Junker's RP, not that they're the only people who can smuggle.
The 81 Syndicate are an OC smuggling group, for example. We can't use junker ID, 'cos we're not junkers, can't use OC cos of the repninja, so have to use the FL one. It'd be nice to have a smuggler ID again so we can still dock on lawful bases, but so we're still viewed with suspicion by the law. It'd only serve to improve the number of RP interactions we get, and add to the inherent danger that smuggling's supposed to carry.
Long story short though, you're stuck with FL ID and the limitations of that really...
