Im sorry, but to be totally honest, I dont like either of them, if I had to choose the second one would be more of my taste, because of that red control thingy in the middle.
But they somehow dont look like something that links to a nomad origin, maybe it could look a bit better if the edges and sharp things on the surface were more rounded, it could also be more blue:P
Well to be honest, it looks like something out of a nineties 3d game.
It doesn't look like a spaceship, it looks like random geo placed in an abstract manner and textures applied.
The second one with a nom nom blue going on. I frigging love the look of the current scorpion, and which I could fly one for my own ends, but that's anouther story...
Make the shell a little thicker however. It's paper thin atm. And um, other than that...yep. It'd fit in better with the wild and nomads than the current thing.

That is true. But take a little look at the 2nd concept.
Now imagine that inside that red mess, inside that red mess which looks a lot like organic material, more like nerves, is a human being. A human whose body has been mutilated and his mind is connected by cords of nerves to that central mass, effectively being a part of that ship.
Yep, that red mess of nerves is a cockpit, a biological uplink to the ship.
As a former Scorpion pilot, I can safely say that I prefer the current model. This just looks too.. artificial. I like the idea, but the present model works nicely. I would like an updated version of what we have now more than a whole new model style.
The entire focus of the model is the giant 'crystal' in the center. That is the drone's central brain. As such, I feel it's a bit exposed. If you could somehow make it look more guarded- with extra tentacles, arm coverage, etc. the thing would look more believable.
