I still don't see whats so horrible about it. Oh god they can trade like everyone else, but they're zoners! The only change is they can use whales in house space now, which even though I know just about nothing of zoner lore, kinda seems to make more sense then zoners using house corp ships.

The problem, Miranda, is that it then becomes completely unbalanced. The unique nature of Zoner diplomacy means thy have very few enemies, and in OSI's case, due to their extreme political competence, near zero.
They also have access to top of the line fighters and equipment, 5k's, and now, they can trade anywhere their heart desires.
Do they deserve it for their stellar performance? Debatable.
But that's besides the point. It's unbalanced, and clearly so.
It's exactly the same old Zoner powertrader ID that got nerfed to hell back in the day, and the faction-only designation doesn't stop it from being OP.
And Veygaar, the OSI is more or less the de facto Zoner faction. YOu can say what you want about the Omicroners and the TAZ, it's the OSI who has always led the way in Zoner diplomacy.
Shooting the OSI is not an option under anyone's book; the TAZ will more or less back them to the hilt and the Omicroners aren't around anymore to play the devil.
