Well, there are a few problems with NPCs. I'd say that the whole BH in Piranhas demanding Admirals from dreadnoughts is about as funny and senseless as the whole BS->planet thing.

Fun to help out the Lib dreads sometimes.

EDIT: Ah, and another NPC problem which needs to be fixed is the existence of Samura convoys in Bretonia. Somewhat wierd...

Apparently in FL Vanilla, rep DOES determine whether you get scanned or not. There's a chart in the strategy guide:

+0.6 to +1.0 - Friendly, and a potential combat ally. Police ships won't scan you.
+0.2 to +0.6 - Generally friendly.
-0.2 to +0.2 - Neutral
-0.6 to -0.2 - Generally hostile, but won't openly attack.
-1.0 to -0.6 - Hostile. Ships will attack you on sight and bases will not allow you to land.
-0.6 to +0.6 - Police ships will scan your cargo for contraband. Pirates will scan your cargo and potentially try to steal it.

Then we should make the BH friendlier with the police/military, to avoid that.

Hmm the problem with crashing Lib Dreads..
I sometimes try to 'rescue' admirals and commander by shooting their
ships and make few hundred of thousands:P

eh, Captain, I have full green rep with the RPF and they still want the Hessians that I have captured. :(

Usually when I'm in the middle of a battle with an Outcast Destroyer above New Berlin is when they demand the pilots, so I either lose the pilots I have worked hard to aquire or they all decide to fire at me instead of the Outcast.
grrr.

these are all reasons that I consider NPCs ooRP most of the time.

I know.. which is why I'm thinking one of two things:
a) Disco mod took that out
b) This strategy guide is a piece of poop

Which, if they took it out, they should put it back in. And add a new rule regarding your IFF, since it makes a larger impact in-game.
