An interesting turn of events. While hunting in Tau 31, we were approached by two EFL bombers. Instead of attacking, they displayed some interest in us and after some lengthy discussion have possibly come to an agreement.

They want a sample of our virus. Perhaps they want to make some manner of bioweapon out of it, or perhaps even a countermeasure. I do not know if I will accept, but if I do I'll give them a less evolved version of the virus that we have in storage. That will set them back enough that they cannot use it against us, but still leave them enough to pick apart.

In exchange, they offer us shelter at their fortress, Helmand. We have seen it; Helmand is very heavily defended and would be an excellent fall-back position in the Taus.

This would mean that EFL is exempt from our recruitment, though we can still attack other Gallic shipping so long as it's not nearby EFL or GRN forces. I'm going to keep this from the Colonials, don't want them having second thoughts about our arrangement. So long as we keep taking out IDF and Solar Engineering transports, they shouldn't notice our lack of EFL activity.

.. All that is assuming I accept EFL's offer, which I am still on the fence about. I'm not going to make any changes to our standing alliances until we procure a new powercore that allows us to customize energy output and power signatures. Currently it tells scanners that we are Kusari Exiles; this needs to change.

I have a plan to acquire some from Kishiro, though it will take delicate negotiations. Only time will tell.

Yet another day goes by that humans find some way to amuse me. We were in Tau 29, following reports of a ship called 'Taranis', who is apparently a member of 'Das Wilde'. We had hoped that Taranis could arrange some sort of meeting with the Nomads, but instead we were waylaid by two Outcasts and a Chrysanthemum; they ignored our previous, positive trade agreement and opened fire. We retreated to Helmand, and the weapon platforms took care of the rest. We did suffer some torpedo hits and were forced to take shelter in Helmand's shields. We then informed them that they have lost a customer and gained an enemy. Even if we don't need Cardamine, their transports shall be targeted simply for retribution. We do not tolerate betrayal.

Interesting. The Colonial scientist we have been working with has finally finished his reports on us. I don't like his tone, but his information is sound and truthful. Sometimes it takes a bit of outside help to fully understand yourself.

Attached reports

It's been a while since we updated this frequency, nothing noteworthy has happened while we worked on completing the Exo Project. Today, however, we were pursuing a Gallic freighter through the Tau-23 system when it managed to evade us. As our cruise engines were charging, a gaggle of Outcast and Junker bombers appeared and promptly attacked us. We won't waste time contacting their superiors, it has simply reaffirmed our decision that they must be punished.

Perhaps we can extract Cardamine from the blood of freshly captured prisoners.
