Pitiful, pitiful... :P

This is a nice intro as a non-faction-creation-request. Good description of intent.

Chili, you say that you want to integrate with the server while maintaining your clan identity. One rather frank question I would ask is this: How does maintaining your BPS clan identity contribute to Disco, versus just joining as individuals?

I'm not at all suggesting it couldn't, but since you all want acceptance as a clan, I'd like to know how your clan qua clan contributes to the server. How might Disco be improved with BPS in ways Disco would be incomplete without it? If you could think through this and explain it explicitly, I think it would go a long way toward your integration.

That said, I'm sure we'll be seeing you in space!

Welcome to Bretonia

Re: Shield busters

The Civilian debilitators are available from Planet Leeds, the Improved model is class 9 and spiffing quality; good projectile speed (750 I think).

Other weapons: Bretonia's fine adv splitter is second to none; actually makes the sunrail obsolete as it does equal if not more damage at a far greater projectile speed (700 as opposed to 600)

I will just repeat my opposition to claims of being an 'elite task force' if you haven't proven yourselves elite in comparison to other Bretonians.

If you're all better than Dieter Schprokets in a Templar, I'll retract that.

Hullo!
I do see something that could work here, and work well, and that is the fact that cambridge, and New london to a lesser extent, have never really been tightly controlled by the QCRF (in my view, Deiter may disagree...) Because originaly, that was the SF's space, while we took the more northerly systems. So you could fit in there rather well.
To fill out you're RP in connection to mine, I would think that the two leading members of the baf could be the Admirals based on Cambridge and the Norfolk. Cambridge Admiral has the military industrial complex of the planet, and mostly planet defenses, with a few interstellar ships, while the Norfolk admiral commands the skies of Cambridge System everywhere but around the planet.

EDIT: Forgot to mention: Gaians! if its something bretonia could use, as alt characters, it would be some more Gaians.

Hmm, I like the intent behind your proposal and as Eppy said, one of the best that has yet been attempted. I personally think you would do better being a part of the QCRF faction just as Unselie suggests, in command of the Cambridge system fleet or something like that.

There are quite a lot of troubles with the Corsairs out in Cambridge, and you can also patrol heavily into Omega 3 (BMM has installations in that system that require protecting). It would give you and the Corsairs something to do involving Bretonia. Additionally, if (or perhaps when), a war between Bretonia and Rheinland starts, you'll be right on the very frontlines, which i'm sure you'll be more than happy to dive straight into and giving it your very best for queen and country;)

These are just ideas and I would not want you to think i'm trying to dictate your roleplay etc, but it would certainly fit in much better and i'm sure you could still have just as much fun. I'm not really sure if there is a niche for a Bretonian intelligence division. Perhaps there is, but I was under the impression that it had already been tried and pretty much failed/died out.

Maybe you'd have better luck and i'm sure people would welcome you to try (if you can get the RP sorted out between all the existing Bretonian factions and yourselves), but i'd like to see you sprucing up Cambridge and giving that area of Bretonia a nice healthy boost. I'm sure you can organise events between yourselves and the OPG there to keep yourselves busy too.

Guys, let me clarify: I have never suggested that they be a wing of the QCRF...another wing would be rather pointless, so far as I can see, and they have already said they're gonna make alts...

Sounds like Bretonia will get it's activity back from sleepy rainy days. Good!

Excellent that you are jumping into other factions to learn more about Discoverys culture.

I wish you all the best in your efforts to integrate your group into this community.

To be sure, Bretonia's "activity" shouldn't just be defined in military terms - others of us have increased the activity there for over two months.

That said, more participation there is definitely welcome!

The [BPS] guys Ive talked to seem very knowledgable about FL, and thoughtful. I like the above, and Im liking Chilis approach to things already.

For your ease of reference, here are the QCRF and BPA Recruitment Threads:

QCRF Recruitment Thread

BPA Recruitment Thread

I also very much agree with Unselies idea of [BPS] becoming a Cambridge-based special forces group, tasked with defending Cambridge and likely Dublin from Corsair intrusion, esp [OPG], and also with authorization to take the fight all the way to Gamma in response.

I could support [BPS] as a separate BAF tagged/generic military IDd faction which is consistent with their behind enemy lines role, which seems to mesh well with their historical role. From their point of view, their clan seems to have a long history, and it would be understandably difficult for them to let that go, and just join our factions (Though they indicate they will anyway, which is great, other imported clans were dead-set against that).

And Blunt, as for the Templar thing, that is SOO sigged. Also however, given how long these guys have been playing FL, if they want to say they are elite, it is likely an earned term. Im betting their PVP and RP will be high standard, once they get into the server. Certainly the guys that have posted so far have given me that impression.

In short, Im optimistic about this, and looking forward to playing with you guys.
