Good day to you all.

I must say that I do appreciate the work you all are doing to work towards a better Rheinland. There is quite a lot of room for change. Hopefully it will come soon.

But I am getting ahead of myself. My name is Thea Bauer. I first became acquainted with the Bundschuh back in my college days, where progressive thinking was closer to the norm. That didn't lead anywhere, so I found myself in need of a job, which I found with a group of Junkers. Now, those Junkers aren't exactly trustworthy most of the time, but I did take a thing or two from the experience. First of all, don't trust a Junker you don't know. The second thing was exactly what's wrong with Rheinland today.

As it stands, Daumann and Republican are the ones controlling their works, instead of the other way around. And the Chancellor is trying to control us all. And though I do regret some of the transactions I was party to, in the Junker operation I was part of, we workers fully controlled the production; We all held an equal share of the business, the profits, and the responsibility. I would like others to know the feeling of that, if possible. But even if not, I feel they have the right to make their own choices in the matter. This fascism needs to be removed now, so a possibility can exist. I trust my compatriots to make the right decision, if they are given the chance to finally do so.

Our fight is the same; I just hope someday we might face it side by side.

Thea

Ah, a new volunteer. Your name is familiar to me... do you have any relations to a Josef Bauer of the LWB?

It is always good to gain new members with a wide variety of past experiences. I'm sure that your adventures with the Junkers will translate well to your duties as a member of the Volksfront. I'm sorry about your negative experiences with them though; it is a shame that we cannot trust those that we don't know in this universe. The life of the Junker did show you, however, the kind of society we are fighting for. We fight for a free Rheinland, a Rheinland where the people rule, not the corporations!

Your application has been accepted and you may begin outfitting your ship immediately. The hangar at Bruchsal will be sure to hold onto a Loki and Scimitar until you have made your decision. Your callsign will be VF)Thea.Bauer and you are starting off as a Parteimitglied. Once you have proven yourself to be a capable pilot and a passionate member of the party, you will advance to Leutnant and be granted access to our shared bomber and transport.

You will do Rheinland proud, I am sure.

Good day again.

Josef is indeed a relative of mine, though rather distant. We share a common ancestor in my Great-Grandfather, though he was very close to my Grandfather in his younger days.

I am honored to join you in this fight. I hope I might someday move towards Leutnant.

Guten tag Frau Landser.
You may remember me. My name is Adrain Herrmann. Your organisation, the Volksfront, was the one that sanctioned my extraction from the poverty of New Berlin so that I might fight for my people alongside the righteous agents of the Bundschuh. You then armed me with the knowledge and weapon with which to take the fight to the enemies of the Rhienlandic People.

I have fought over these last few months, as hard as I could. I have flown with fellow agents of the Volksfront and they have been allies to me. That is why I now wish to join your party. Your policies and politics echo my own. I believe I can fight on for a better Rhienland, a Rhienland free from the fascist oppression of a corrupt regime most effectively under your banner.

I have placed my initial communicae to your organisation at the bottom of this transmission. I wait on Bruchsal for your reply.

Respectfully
-Adrian Herrmann

Quote:Guten tag Frau Landser. I know you have little reason to trust me you do not know me and I have done nothing to earn your trust. I have seen through the states foul slanders on your organisation however. I know you act for the good of our noble Fatherland, the great Rhienland!

I was born into the industrial slums of New Berlin; the Heiligensee Kiez specificly. Its a particularly poor area, although my family has always managed to survive through my fathers business. He crafts small components for space craft that make up parts of the engine areas. Through his meager income he managed to secure me a place in a State school in a less deprived area. We did not have enough money to send me into further education however; instead I was destined to work alongside my father until I could pass the business onto a son of my own.

During my time at school I had rubbed shoulders with the influential, and the contrasts of the poverty of Heiligensee with the ostentatious extravagance of the further up market areas sickened me. I began to see how our Houses wealth was held by a select few Capitalists while the working people suffered in squalor. I could envision a State were capitol was distributed equally among the People through a system of economic fairness laid down by a benevolent Socialist regime.

I voiced these views inside the home, sparking debate among my family. My father even threatened to turn me out for blasphemy against the GottKanzler, the very individual who has been squandering Rhienlands opportunities as a State of the People.

As the State directed our House to a path of war with Liberty, I became discontent, rousing fellow inhabitants of my Kiez to protest against the fascist state. We aimed small smashing the windows of capitalist pigs shops and spreading leaflets among others who would no doubt be drawn to the cause.

It was at this point my father decided that he could no longer tolerate my actions and cast me out, causing me to move in with friends of the cause. It was at that point I began to look for others who shared my views for the creation of a better Rhienland. I found the Bundschuh.

This is why I now pen this letter to you Frau Landser. I know the neural nets are monitored by the fascist pigs, so I have asked my friends to pass the letter from hand to hand until it reaches your door. I hope it arrives promptly.

I will fight for the Fatherland and its people, Frau Landser. Give me a weapon and I shall fight them in the cities! Give me a ship and I shall fight in the space ways! Give me a mission and I shall readily die in the name of the Bundschuh!

The office of Oberst Gechevski , green and dark in colour , covered with revolutionary slogans , flags and paintings of fallen in battle revolutionaries , was quite empty these past few weeks. With trouble heading from Liberty and a recently founded revolutionary force on planet Hamburg discovered and all the participants in it taken into custody , Lyubomir had a lot of things to deal with.

In order to drift his thoughts away from all the problems his party had to face , Lyubomir decided to look into some of the recruitment documents. There was only one that caught his attention. It was an application made by someone he knew and heard about - Adrian Herrmann. Aldo the application was not directed towards him , the temporary absence of director Landser , meant that the Volksfront had a new , temporary party leader.

After reading his application the Oberst was more then convinced he was suited to join the ranks of his fellow Volksfront. Such passion and determination where rare qualities , Herrmann was more then promising in the eyes of the young Oberst.

Lyubomir quickly took an old , large and green stamp and soon after that , landed it on the piece of paper , giving it "Approved" status.

"We need more men and women like him."

After wich he allowed himself to drift towards the problems , surrounding Rheinland.

Guten tag. My name is Kaspar Korbinian and I was once a history student at Mitte-Stadt University, and I don't have much time, I thought I saw an undercover Federal Policeman pass me a second ago. I pray to whatever is out there that this message gets through, because if it doesn't I'm gone - I'm history if you'd pardon the expression.

I bet your wondering how a University student found his way to Stuttgart, and I don't blame you. Check my records if you must: History department under Professor Petrus Urs, student ID number 4278593A.

Now for my story. The History department is, compared to most other sections of the school, relatively quiet and not under the scrutiny of the Political Sciences. This all changed when the gracious "New Church" of our nosy Chancellor started wanting admin access to the servers that handle historical data requests. My Professor and mentor declined, as nobody had a 'delete' or 'write' command on those servers. We all thought nothing of it for a week, thinking their silence on the matter meant we had won. This changed when not only did our Professor step down from his chair, but small bits of the server started changing.

In defiance, I copied the unchanged data onto optical disks and made plans to flee the planet. I don't know how, but they found out and I fear for my life.

Before the disappearance of my mentor, I was not political in the slightest. Friends would discuss things of this nature and I brushed it off, thinking my life was different, however now I know that none of us can escape politics. I have come to appreciate the democratic viewpoint, as it has had an equalizing effect in past history. In short: I am a party man.

Please, I come to you now with sparse credits to my name, and sparser skills. I have the eyes watching me at every turn.

"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."

" It is a great pleasure for me to see a bright , young mind peer thrue the lies that the fascist government feeds its people. You have taken a brave first step in fighting against the tyranny and what is more important , help preserve a piece of history , history which we are all a part of.

We shall offer you shelter , we shall arm you with everything you need , to help you fight for the people and help them see and understand what you have come to learn , the hard way unfortunately.

Contact one of our people , who constantly stand in the bars of Stuttgart and help distribute revolutionary newspapers. Tell them that I have send you and they shall find a way to safely and quickly transport you to our base of operation in either Munich or Frankfurt. "

Locking the Behemoth into a long cruise around the empty side of Hamburg, Kaspar unclips himself from the co-pilots chair and stands up, stretching. Leaving the pilot in charge he heads off the bridge and down the hall to his cabin.
Grunting at his unmade bed, he flips it up into the wall to make more room. Sitting on the stool at his tiny desk, he logs in to the computer and starts to write a missive:

"Dear Sir or Madam,
It's hard to begin to know where to start with these letters, so I'll get straight to the point: I would like to become a part of the Volksfront.
I suppose I can't go on and send just that. I'll start at the beginning and work up to here. My background is in civil engineering and architecture. I studied architecture at Vaihingen University on planet Stuttgart, of which I am a native. I came from a comfortable, middle class family with no history of farming. They always describe the universities of Rheinland as 'hotbeds of activism,' but I felt it was an exaggeration. Sure we spray-painted the sheaf on to Synth Foods processing plants, became self-proclaimed Bundschuh, and decried Daumann and Republican. But it felt insincere, shallow. I am almost certain none of my friends at university are active in the revolution.
I came close to the same fate myself. After getting my degree, I settled into an easy, profitable career as a civil engineer. But I retained my sympathies to the political activists even when my colleagues decried their former opinions as 'childish phases'. I donated to the 'unofficial' WVS collectors as many did, knowing the money was going straight to the LWB, but I did little else.
But then a childhood friend of mine that I'd almost lost touch with re-entered my life. We grew up in the same city, and after moving to Vaihingen together for a few years, he'd returned home to run his family farm. He came to me after the closure of his farm. He was at a loss. He was normally a very calm and measured person, but now he was furious and alive. And it fanned the dying embers of my own activism back into a roaring fire.
We slowly got ourselves affiliated with the LWB and assisted them for several years. I have no personal connection to the farmers' struggle beyond my existence as a Stuttgarter and Rheinlander, but I was drawn in to the movement for its ideals and actions. I was most at home in our little house, dreaming up plans and a future paradise of Rheinland.
Eventually, we went too far and had to leave Stuttgart altogether. We relocated to Darmstadt, where I have lived ever since. My friend, Helmut, signed up with a militant wing of the LWB, and flew missions out in space. I, however, remained on the station. The farmer's fight was not my fight. I busied myself hacking into the neuralnet from the station and disseminating activist literature across pirated frequencies.
Recently, though, I've been in space myself. At first Helmut needed a copilot for his bomber. He can fly a ship, but he is not at home amongst the technical side of things. I took to this role with enthusiasm. And later, I became a founding member of a grand project hatched between several LWB members - an uncatchable, irrepressible, unstoppable fleet of transport ships that would keep all the Rheinland activisits supplied and unified in the increasingly trying times. We got ourselves a few Behemoths and set out. It has raised our methods and our goals in leaps and bounds, and my brain felt alive again, working out plans, meeting with like-minded individuals, spreading out our ideologies and methods. This is where I am truly at home.
But I have no ship, no role, that is truly my own. When the behemoth is docked, I sit idly in station bars. And I grow restless. Although the LWB will always have a place in my heart, my history and my life, I think I would be most at home amongst the Volksfront. It is where my skills would be most efficiently put to use, and the perfect vehicle for my grand dreams. The Volksfront is the brain, the head, of the giant unstoppable beast of the Rheinland revolution. It drives it forward and keeps it together.
So, that's why the Volksfront would be good for me.
As for why I might be able to make myself useful for the Volksfront:
I am an educated, politically knowledgeable and active Rheinlander.
History of political and revolutionary activity.
Skilled with technology, equipment and repairs.
Knowledge of outlawed elements, peoples and bases from Sigma-13 down to Omega-47.
Competent co-pilot and gunner, willing to learn how to become a 'fighter jock' on my own.
I have proven my loyalty to the cause across several years, and have picked up valuable experience along the way.

I hope when you read this message, that it is a pleasant surprise.

Kaspar Keitel"

Feeling he should add more to the message, but finding himself unable to elocute his emotions, he relents. Hoping his message didn't sell himself short, but was honest too, he uploads it to the network and transmits it directly to Bruchsal Base. Picking a crumpled packet from his breast pocket, he retrieves a cigarette, and places it between his lips as he wanders back to the bridge of the Schoenen Hafer.

Comrades, the time has come for change. Too long have the people suffered under the aristocratic yoke, too long has the chancellor oppressed the proletariat. It is time for us to take back what is ours.

My name is Josef Marks. Professor, New Berlin University department of history. A professor must be careful of what he says. The long arm of the chancellor is never very far from campus, and one never knows what is being heard. I have always sympathized with the Volk, but never have I defied the Reich openly. So I existed, walking the line on my lectures, always careful of what I said.

One month ago, I submitted a paper to the university history journal. I had been crafting this article for a long time. I will not bother you with the details of "Post-war social renewal and revitalization", but it was my passion. I have travelled all over the republic to research this article. It was to my great surprise when my article was returned to me two weeks ago, unmarked but for an "unaccepted" scrawled at the top. Angrily, I contacted the journal, awaiting their justification. I received a call from the editor, a friend of mine. He informed me that the article had been denied by the government censors that were present. When I asked what an article concerning the history of 100 years ago has to do with censors, my friend merely told me that there was never a justification to such denials.

In the past two weeks, my mail has arrived, ripped open and read. A censor has attended each of my lectures. I am certain that my house is bugged. I cannot live like this. I have resigned my post as professor and I will remain quiet no longer. In one hour, every speaker on campus will begin to broadcast a spoken version of my paper. I have made many friends on campus, a few who are rather competent with computers. I feel this to be an appropriate compensation. I leave the campus now, unsure of where to go.

I will come, if the Volksfront will take me. Too long have the people suffered, for them I will fight, for them I will cast down the fascist regime.

Herr Keitel, we have an increasing need for engineers of your capability. As the war drags on and the Gottkanzler tightens his grip on Rheinland, our vessels take on some major wear and tear. With someone of your capabilities, as well as organizational skills, I could see you becoming a great asset to the cause.

I doubt that it is necessary to inform you of the great risk you are taking by contacting us. We are faced with much mistrust by all non-revolutionary parties. In joining us, you're taking up the banner again Rheinlandic Oppression, Libertonian Aggression, and Auslander Transgressions! Should you be willing to accept to face these challenges head-on and fight for a greater Rheinland, we shall welcome you into our organization.

And herr Marks, another academic. The Bundschuh itself was founded by scholars and academics who saw the wrongs with Rheinland society, with Rheinland government. It is always we that can look past the wool that has been pulled over our eyes, obscuring reality, who are capable of inflicting change.

You are very brave to take up your own private fight, openly defying the Censor in such a manner. I believe that you are very wise to come to us; they do not take kindly to such embarrassment. The fascists are not known for their ability to let slights fade and let minor wounds heal. I shall expedite your approval into the Volksfront to the best of my ability so as to ensure your freedom and survival for as long as possible.

The Bundschuh, and the Volksfront itself, could always use more academics. I myself am more of a fighter than a member of the intelligista, but I know full-well that we require a fine balance between the two. Without the warriors, the patriot fighters, the revolution simply will not happen. Without you, the intellectual, the revolution is aimless and hopeless.

I, Konstantin Preus, gladly offer both of you membership into the Volksfront. Should you choose to accept, you will both become registered party members and supplied with your own ship and whatever other material we believe is necessary. I look forward to flying with you both.

-Konstantin Preus
