No offence to anyone, but what about all the innocent Pakistanis civilians killed by American drones, would anyone in the US take a day and mourn or stand for them ?

That you also need to consider Alan, I am not against Americanism but not everyone is from your country, and thinks the actions taken from the US Army are all morally positive.

That's correct, but you might want to think about the ramifications when people want to celebrate Red Army memorial day, Iranian army memorial day and so on and so forth.

The "no politics on the forum" rule is there for a pretty good reason, no matter where one's personal sympathies might lie.

Stand up to the terrorists and make them stop using the civilians as shields and that won't happen, but this is not the place to discuss such things. Thank you to all heroes, both standing and fallen.

Okay, who invis'd my comment? While I know that at times I've made political statements in the past, I didn't think thanking Alan for his post and mentioning Kipling's Tommy was political...

One of my friends pointed me to this thread. So I started reading.

I am a US Veteran.

Let me start by saying thank you to the original poster for thinking of all the men and woman that have served the USA. Might not sound like much, but when you take into account that we never asked for a thank you, or even recognition, it means a lot.

Then let me move on by personally thanking every service member from every country that made it possible for me to be here playing this game today. A lot of time it is forgotten how much support we were given. These men died just like we did and the only difference is it did not hit the US so close to home. I promise there families still remember.

Last but not even close to least. I would like to recognize the millions of men and women I met. Mothers, Fathers, sons, daughters, sisters and brothers. No different from any american I ever met. Standing faithfully by there beliefs, there families. Doing nothing but trying to build a good life. Harming no one. these are the true victims. The ones that are vilified because they come from the same place as a terrorist.

You do realize that you are indirectly giving a thumbs up to Jetblack as well, who serves in the US Navy?

The distasteful joke aside, even if I have not been in the army, I can respect people, who join it, no matter what motivates them. I have a few friends I keep in contact with from the US, who happen to be in the army, so yes, thumbs up, peeps. Stay toasty. And alive.
