Oh ... I am on this server like 7 months now... and I reported one guy ,... only once.. but i have SS collection from about 30-40 rule brakers... but I am here with Gurjiv.,,,
I talk to all of them.. the newest was just week ago in NB.,... outcast Dessie undocks from Junker base and kills me ... even if I am pirate.. I was afk... but before i went I took 3 SS of same guy in Dessie with Civilian ID,,,, I asked him why ... he said I was red to him on scanners,... I was really really close to make my 2nd report...
But i talked with him.... and I explained to him his mistake .. he apologized... all went well ... Talking with people no mater how pissed you are is only solution you can improve quality of RP and only solution in enforcing rules... Of course if people want to talk and see their error... most of them do want to talk and admit mistakes...
So this is the way I am doing something good for this server,
EDIT: I am really against reports, unless rules had been severly broken... Wrong IDs, messed rep, cruising in battle, all rolfocopters and lols in system chat, wrong ooRP loadouts all of that can be fixed if people want to talk and admit they are wrong... True.. they can spoil your fun... but if they are new... that is excuse enough to turn another cheek:)
PM works best; never reported someone; just reasoned and tried to convince them and pointed them to the forum and the rules. With the encouragement that the longer you play the better it gets and we all screw up some time, right?
Revenge? Hit respawn; your ship is still there. If you're that annoyed at a game, you need to go do something else.
Like others have said, a simple PM gets the job done. And if they are abusive, and start swearing, the administrators have no choice but to ban them for the minimum term. Thats the only time when I would post a sanction report.:)

What I've noticed that PMing the guy takes less time than taking a screenie, uploading, filing a report.
At least for me it took about 30mins, since there were plenty of screenies. I've filed total 2 reports with 1 leading to a sanction. The dude was pretty jovial in his dessie trying to rob me. I was trying to convince in RP to drop the case. We were also attracting attention by then since my PM was flooded by questions about what he was flying. The guy wouldn't relent and I was just writing him a PM message to really back off or else... when the server crashed. I would have dropped the case there, but he himself had said: "I usually charge a mil., damning himself. Tough luck on his part that the server crashed since I'm 99% sure he would have listened to reason in PMs.
I make sanction reports for two things: swearing, and morons. You know who I'm talking about: Sabre, Tizonas, BH ID, then when you explain they don't care. Guess what? I do.
In other news, I had someone (complete stranger) drop the f-bomb in private chat yesterday. Couldn't take a screen cuz my FL is retarded in a window, so I explained that it was against the rules and that I've seen people banned for a month for it. He was all, "OK", so no problem.
I stil think there should be some sort of server police
Not to punch players around, But give players guidens or something in a form of time limit
If a new player does not know the rules, punch him the right way and give him a time limit to sort his charr out
And if he fails to do that, than you can nagotiate for second chance
If not send a PM to the sanction board of its status and its failure

ha thats nothing. i had a guy once that had the F-Bomb in there NAME. he logged off before i could PM him. i got a SS, but i have no idea how to post them, so i just deleted it. i wish i had the banhammer for that. i hope that logging off was the result of an INSTABAN.

I like the attitude that you suggest people should have. I don't like the idea of Server Police.
