Admin Notice: Phantoms 2.0

I never encountered the phooms so i cannot say much about the Rp.

However i do agree with alot of what has been said. There is alot in the mod right now that could use the attention. If trawling through the forums is anything to go by there is alot that could do with the focus more then reviving an old faction which is obviously going to have alot of mixed feelings from the Community.

Although people seem to be falling over themselves to have Phantom gear, is that really a good reason to try and recreate and introduce a faction when others are desperate for attention, the faction might get remade and reintroduced, and fail to get anyone, or at least keep anyone on board. Priorities i think should focus on what we already have right now.
To name some examples i see:
Gallia Activity
Molly Mining
The Bretonia Gallia War
The Corsair activity
Outcast Activity?
PoB suggestions and Concerns
Events
FR5's

There is alot that would make better use of the time and effort.

Just checked the restarts and I do not see a " Phantom " restart. Not saying your lieing but I am saying that I do not think you will see a phantom in game In a Rp Areas just yet. Unless ofcourse I missed something other wise, doubtful..

I love how much stereotyping is happening here, and it's not just Zigeris, it's about 19 pages of the 20 pages here. Past players have set a trend, so all future attempts at this MUST be bad!

Not a valid mentality really. Not everyone is of such a base mental state. There are those out there who really don't care about blue messages or using minimal rule-qualifying 1 liners to get a quick PvP fix. New(er) players shouldn't be tarred by this brush.

It's not about the players themselves it is about what they're allowed to conceive as appropriate RP prior to engagement. I have the screen somewhere... but the point is... Phantoms had 99% decent players, however it's what they were allowed to do was the bitter taste. RP > Rules? Yes that argument again.


And Muller if you don't understand what you're arguing then don't proceed to accuse someone else of false account. My statement is based on experiences. And it's not a stereotyping it's regurgitating a stigma that the Phantom's owned for some time. One that is a pet peeve that rides up there with someone writing "Oh I've been shot" then killing however is near by, even though that person never fired.

So yes there are those who care about RP more than PvP. Those people... don't join Reavers or Phantoms for the reason they can ultimately design a char and portray it in game. All encounters with Phantoms have been PvP with less than 10 words spoken by them in 30+ encounters. People who do SRP's generally are the ones who produce the best ingame RP experiences. They're the ones that crafted a story that is unique and RP well. Phantoms...generally have a decent story... not everyone plays up to the part...

A Phantom (of yore) was defined as a terrorist. Thus, the mere fact that he had a Phantom tag and ID was sufficient role play for him to kill you. He didn't need to utter a word for it to be valid role play. Rules are artificial constructs used to create a semblance of fair play and maintain some order. Just because a person's role play breaks a rule; doesn't mean it is bad or invalid role play. Just means it broke a rule.

I'd hate to see you play a real role play game. One that doesn't force you to not role play to play.
