What kind of assurances do we order independants have that it was done fairly and right then, instead of secretly selected with our votes thrown out?

You dont, and neither do I. All I know is that a vote is going to be done, nobody's said anything more to me, black squadron has stopped giving me any information and the admins are keeping silent on everything regarding this. Frustrating eh?

Shouldn't the independants decide how the independants choose to decide how the independants are chosen? Who is denying us that right!

Certainly isnt me, no matter how much i want on the council (because I do think I've earned it, even though I rather hate the whole change in command in general), I havent been told a damn thing since a few days ago.

Okay, that sounds a little rediculious to me too, but the point is, whose hands is the voting proccess in? Are those hands trustworthy? What are the plans for those hands to prove that the outcome was legitimate?

I think the admins intend to be the third party to handle this, but they're about as unbiased as the rest of us. Frankly, I know that most of the admins hate my guts =P

RP. The zoners really dont have a command structure, government, or laws - they're a bunch of independently owned ships whose only linking quality is the fact that they all call themselves zoners.

See, the zoner council works because it's an anarchist group, the decisions made by that council, in-RP, really have no effect on any zoners at all except for the groups controlling each freeport or zoner planet.

The difference here is that the order is a military organization, it has a defined ranking system and command structure. Now, while that apparently ticks off a lot of players who say "you aint the boss of me!", that's how it has to be handled to maintain... well, order.

In the US army, nobody gives a damn about the comments or opinions of a fresh recruit. Hell, even people who have been serving in the US military for ten years have little to no say in what the army decides to do. There's ranks, and each rank is overruled by another rank all the way up to the department of defense and US government.

See, if we handled this the way it SHOULD be handled (even though I dont entirely agree with it), any order pilot who disobeyed orders from a superior officer (which, as far as rp has been established, would ultimately lead up to the black squadron admirals) would be thrown in the brig and probably executed for treason. Of course, that would make this server much less fun for a lot of people, but there still needs to be some semblence of rank and command or we end up looking like the corsairs, zoners, and outcasts.

I'm currently on vacation in the mountains and it was only with luck that I have found a working PC with inet connection , so I'll be brief - If there is going to be a voting topic or anything of such matter that requers my signing up / presence or something similar , I kindly ask Swiss / Tenacity to fill in my RP character name , because I think that they have both been introdused with Mirage.

note - I may be able to get a PC with inet so you may not have to do things that I should be doing myself.

2) You are part of "us" now, so it was directed at the people denying you from the loop as well. I think I could trust an Admin run vote not to be rigged, although I don't know if we could expect them to do the vote, they being busy and everything. Not so sure about other people. I figure if we know who is running it, people who know them will either breathe a public sigh of relief or make a big stink about untrustworthyness, and then I'll know the character of the people involved. Ahh well, can't have everything.
