If you can't learn to lead, I suppose all those leadership seminars that business leaders run in the real world are pointless? There's actually a debate about that, but it's a non-starter to say you can or can't learn a skill.

Instead of having this pointless discussion about what will or wont happen in a few weeks, and the frankly nitpicking attitude that is plain as daylight above this post, howabout we revisit this topic later? If you have your methods to keep track of changes in the Order Jack, then you wont hesitate to give them the time they say they need to effect changes. What does it cost to you to give them time? If you are actually concerned about making the faction better, you'll give them their last chance. If you only want to bring them down into pointless argument that wastes everybody's time, you'll post more inflammatory garbage. Choice is yours.

Sun Tzu is an essential reading for both military and civilian leaders. All of the language in that text is directly transferrable to confrontations with both sword and pen, even though it only concerns the sword. A good manager doesn't study 'money stuff', he studies strategy and tactics, then applies it to a business setting. As FL does not rely on knowledge and cuts out many of the things a general needs to know (close fire support doesn't exist, skill is the deciding factor rather than technology and so on), a leader of a faction here can be much more business oriented even if the faction itself is meant to be a military force.

As for the jist of what you said about the Order currently, I generally agree. It's very easy to shut yourself off from outside criticism (having been in that position before) convinced that your way is the right way. After all, you don't generally lose anything doing this, as public support plays absolutely no role in anything of importance here.

Two important things I saw.

We dont have to learn to lead we have to learn to work together and me for example have to learn to do it a bit better than now.

I suppose that is your opinion, but leadership is about convincing people to follow you. Good leaders have followers who will walk with them through hell, now of course that's a little outlandish for FL, but consider the lessons you learn in cyberspace carry with them no real penalty for failure, yet real rewards for success.

Working as a team is all well and good, but teamwork is not the panacea of good practice if the components of that team are, for one reason or another, unavailable at crucial times. This means that the team does not work, and is hence pointless.

To inspire people below you to put time and effort into something, they must be led. If none of you know how to lead, how on earth do you expect people to follow?

If so, and you can't fulfil that which is required of you in the time that has been allocated (at this point, by no one of importance, so there isn't a time limit really), let someone else, who has the time, to step up to the place you're in now. Responsibilities in FL are still responsibilities, and the people you let down over the internet are still real people.

If you want the position that you held before back, when you no longer have to worry about finals and such, then you'll work for it from the bottom like you did the first time. FL isn't a place to work you say? Then perhaps you don't want it back that much.
