' Wrote:The Outcast Destroyer is constructed at Corsica. The Shipyards in Londonderry should not be producing that vessel, and it should be removed next version. Malta is not capable of launching capital ships (other than Gunboats) into planetary orbit. There is no way something that large could survive the stress of launch and re-entry.
Whilst I've been defending your rights as a faction leader here, don't start applying real-life physics to science fiction. Lasers should never miss. Rhinos should not be able to fly in atmosphere. Actually, nothing should fly in atmosphere.

I'm just going to point out, my position(I've one on everything) on planets is that they're shielded, and thats why you cannot land...not because ships (fightercraft only, probably) absolutely cannot fly in atmosphere.
I was asked if I supported this registration policy, earlier but I had to go and deal with some blanket legislation that had unfortunately caught me out unfairly. No I didn't spend an hour yelling at the local council I just did what was necessary and went about my day. But that's not the point.
Before I answer the question I'm going to explain why any answer is the wrong answer. If I say I support the registration it will be taken as "I'm an indy bashing faction leader" even if I beleive in it's intended purpose and that it can fulfill that purpose.
If I answer that I do not support this, then it will be taken as if I stand "against the unfair tyranny levelled against the independent owners", even if my reasons are different.
This I know.
However I'm still going to answer it.
Yes I support this movement in principle. I support what it stands for, bringing a minimum standard of RP to any capital ship owner.
No I do not support this motion in practice because it cannot hope to fulfil it's objective. Those that this actually targets, the cap owners that just want to PvP, won't care about it. So it will acheive nothing against them, except to give them the PvP they crave.
What it does acheive however is to bring those on the fringe of RP into the community, it has bought at least one person to the forums to sign up and carry on hassle free, that's a victory. A small one, but a victory nonetheless.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
Im kind of new to discovery, and im probably missing out some major factor or something but...
Can't this all just be resolved peacefully without resulting into a massive flame war? seems like an easy solution to me, indies register thier cap ships to help prevent OORP, and factions promise not to escelate thier restrictions? seems like a good, peaceful solution to stop this going any further, and stopping anyone saying things they might regret after the heat of the moment.

You are new Fang :). Yeah it would be nice without the flames but this being the internet, and with people having massive egos thats not going to happen.
It makes sense to me to register your ship. I mean the military would know how many of each type of vessel they had out there and who the captain was. I don't see a problem with that at all. Oh and this is a RP server so having a rp story for your enormous ship is not asking too much.
I was just bountyhunting a ship that will remain nameless, and, lo and behold, a outcast destroyer, molly tag, zoner i.d., corsair weapons and not a word in response. I followed him to Omega 49 and observed him farming corsair npc's in GC orbit. I know adding examples from our own experience isn't really enlightening, but considering how fiery this debate has become in the last few days, it does put things into perspective.

Who do I talk to to register my vessel :)
Epyon the bored who plays Willow and Mia Bonello the heads of the 101st is the person to speak to if you have an OC capitol ship. Otherwise I don't know.

You'll find that most of the discussion here has been reasonable, with the exception of one induvidual trying to derail the whole thing. I have added said induvidual to my ignored list.
The other outstandingly anti registration person here, Nooblet, is upset because he has done everything required, and much more, but recently the registration became something that made all the difference, and the registration is somewhat outside of the RP of the ship. One assumes (and I have not read nooblet's rp, I have not found it) that the ship has a long history of working with the Maltese navy, and registering it now implies that it wasn't registered before, which I find ludicrous, if the ship has been working with the navy. The registration is something that must be oorp in nature, or optionaly RP, or else it threatens to break RP of existing ships. Were I eppy, I would find nooblet's RP, post it, and consider the ship registered, but conduct the whole process oorp.
