I have to say, just because someone knows what they post doesn't mean it doesn't end up being hurtful. I've posted many silly pictures and comments in the past that at the time I thought were cute, but in about 5 minutes realized it was in bad taste and removed them. In the worst of cases, even apologized to the people I attacked in PM. If you want proof of this, ask Dab and Tenacity, since they were the ones I apologized to, even if Dab doesn't remember.
If you have a problem with someone that is so pressing that you have to tell them, take it to PM or Skype, not publicly. Otherwise, it's just being actively destructive. There is nothing constructive about a thread that basically says "Flame me and tell me everything I do wrong in any format you want!" even though it might start with the intention of constructively improving the person who started it. In essence, it's a less hostile trial-by-forum.
That's my opinion, and now, if you'll all excuse me, I'll be donning my flame retardant suit.

It started out as one abuse me thread, then a whole lot of people made them.
Jazz, why on earth would you beat on yourself then ask the Admins to lock every thread? That's just being stupid.
The first ones (i believe) had the goal of helping to relieve some forum tension, by getting people to stress relief on some one who can take it. Then some others popped up because it was funny and as humans tend to do like sheep they follow the leader when theres a fad/trend. Now one person is upset, (Because he beat on himself,) and wants them all locked??
The first "abuse me" threads I thought were funny. The others that
came up was "uh huh..here we go.." now it's just getting ridiculous.
Now Jazz's reaction???? Cmon....Grow a thick skin man.
Just don't enter the threads if you don't like them! Its that simple!
Jazz you've been posting some weird stuff lately... It might be time to take a break?
Edit: Although I partially agree with Jazz's first post, I'm annoyed that because he has upset himself he wants to force his opinion and a thread regulation on the entire forum community. That is what I find unacceptable and am reacting to, not anything about the "abuse me" threads. Its a political correctness disguised as "I hurt my own feelings, please lock all threads like this."

Actually, the original Abuse thread was made by TankTarget, my old CO in the Hellfire Legion from the 4.82-mid-4.83 days. That one ballooned to in excess of a thousand posts...then Kane made it invisible:dry:But otherwise I think they're a bit of a slap in John's memory's face and we should get over them...

Well, the tread I created was to vape offf, and is made for people with a specific kind of humor style. Dark humor if you want (a tad cynical too).
I made the "Flameyourself" tread just to have a laugh, and also for one thing. Even if some people can take a lot of Flames bad jokes etc (even if, most of the time they ain't serious) sometime the person to who "flames" are directed to can take something badly (we all have a sensitive cord somewhere). Since I liked the idea of such kind of humor, I have created a topic where the abused would be the abuser. Thus, making sure nobody ends up flaming eachothers.
If you cannot withstand the abuse, Just don't involve yourself into it, and don'T even go take a look at the tread.
