Definitely not.

The in-game abuse would be ridiculous. It already is in some ways, honestly. I've seen many, many faction police posts regarding artifact/cardamine smugglers landing upon the capital planet of *inserthousehere* while the Police have clearly given orders to stop.

Planetary docking for unlawfuls should be kept to in-game storylines that cannot be similarly abused. And I say all of this as someone who practically only plays unlawfuls.

Also Echo stated that it's impossible even if he thought it was a good idea.

That's certainly a reasonable idea, but suggesting that the law won't know about it won't work because people will camp there regardless.

Hows an unlawful docking ring abuse ? It dosnt go to the same damn base it goes to a differnt base with differnt commodities and ships and euipment

And a planet can have as many docking rings and bases u can fit on the outside of the planet simple as that and its no abuse it dosnt have to have super goods maybe some nanos and resupplys and a few commodities

what you think about X shuttle allowance to land on any planet that way ? He has lore which allow that. And technically it could be solved to target planet itself (and no docking ring) and make a landing.

Who wanna RP that way doesnt need big transports, or simply allow freighters to dock openly

I might be wrong but I'm not sure that such a thing is possible, FL engine doesn't like new things.

That's a hell of a lot of work - not to implement, strictly speaking, but to manage. The trade economy is already very convoluted due to the hundreds of bases in the mod.

okay maybe not a 2-base system, but do you get the idea of how i think jg style docking ring could be implemented? I'm trying to write a post explaining the "mechanics" but yea it's taking a while. I bet if I knew how to program, writing the code for it would be easier than writing the explanation 8|

also, I think the 2 base system is a sweet idea- just a brand new front built for smuggling and illicit activities. besides i think we can afford to cut down on existing systems and bases- after all quality>quantity.
