The people of Liberty are sick of this Illegal trade embargo, taxes are higher, jobs are being lost, wages are being squeezed and some organisations are drawing up plans to leave Liberty space and set up somewhere new.

The evidence gathered here and the statements given to this committee will be collated and submitted with a recommendation to the Liberty Government, President Powell and the state department ADMINs and advisors to make a final judgement.

The related thread had a warning for it as well.

It was an attempt by the KoF to force another faction to change its RP by whining to the admins, repeatedly, instead of trying to RP around it. When they then pretend to have no knowledge of having done this, it is really rather tiresome.

I used Orange type [My Bad] Marburg changed it to white.

I don't like the trade embargo.
I think it's totally unecessary and is a damn nuisance to traders.
I have discussed the issue with FellowHoodlum as I feel it needs debating.
I informed him that I intended to post along the lines of [KoF]-Chakotay being called to attend a government enquiry.
He told me to go ahead and he would have a look at it.
You have offered nothing in the original thread supporting or against the embargo.
Instead you come here and call me a whiner???

In-character, I don't care about the embargo, and my own traders would probably be against it too, if they traded between Rheinland and Liberty, but they don't, so I saw no reason to post in-character, and if I wasn't posting in-character, I wouldn't post at all, and I certainly wouldn't post in an RP thread full of OOC rubbish.

You did post out of character, repeatedly, and now you lie about it. Asking ADMINs to look into whether something is allowed or not isn't roleplaying, it's attempting to say that it is against the rules, which it isn't. I'm sorry, but I'm telling the truth here, not trolling. And listening to rumours, tut tut.:P

The embargo was issued in RP by the Liberty government, something perfectly normal in a situation like this one when Liberty is preparing to assault Rheinland. Do you really think the Liberty government would allow goods to be exported to Rheinland to help fuel their war effort in a time like this? Iraq had an embargo placed on it long ago before it's invasion, and this isn't any different. The Liberty Navy admirals currently also roleplay the leaders of Liberty, so the embargo was issued in RP by the Liberty Congress, and not the Navy. The Navy simply enforces it.

Take note that Rheinland has a similar resolution placed from it's side, and if only RM were as active as LN, I bet you would have them stop you from exporting their goods into Liberty as well (which was decided by the Rheinland Chancellor - leader of the Military) so even if you did somehow manage to bring it down from the Liberty side, you would still be unlawful for doing it in Rheinland, unless what you carry is Passengers and nothing more.

But those facts are nothing in light of your effort to try to get the admins to undermine RP between the players of two flagship factions of two ingame houses, which completely took out all the RP from this situation. You should have been negotiating with the Rheinland and Liberty governments in order to have you exempt from the embargo perhaps? This situation was dealt with very badly, and I entirely disapprove.

The USA sanctions against Iraq did not harm the USA economy or it's people.
This embargo by Liberty IS harming the economy and people of Liberty so yes very different.
I suggest you read the roleplay thread outlining the reasons for the challenge against the embargo.

I don't think this is right and proper if it is actually true.
The Navy is a military force that answers to the elected President and elected representatives of the Government.
I tried to roleplay a Liberty Government enquiry proceedings.
I was opening up a debate. The [LN] or LNS or LPI or LSF or whoever are NOT the government of Liberty.
I can accept that the Liberty Government some time ago imposed a trade embargo for some reason.
Can you not accept my democratic right as a citizen of Liberty to challenge that decision?

We are polite and co-operative with the Rheinland Military and have been stopped for routine scanning on many occasions.
There have been no problems so far.
I have had many problem in Liberty though even to the extent of having my Transport fired upon.
That was when I was passing through the system heading to Kusari, I was not importing into Liberty just passing through.
But the [LN] officer did not believe me and opened fire.

Thats an interesting idea Blodo.
Maybe the embargo should have been targeted against opposing faction traders in the first place.
ie. No Liberty trade vessels of any kind allowed in Rheinland.
and also No Rheinland trade vessels of any kind allowed in Liberty.
Makes a bit more sense I reckon.
