Omega systems layout revision.

As to why the RoS received it; all the other local factions already have enough bases (possibly except the Coalition, but hey, it's their choice to be so insular...). This ties in with an upcoming general revision of the faction.

Hey, you know we have machinations to expand and conquer. For the most part, I'm pretty happy with the changes, though the removal of Omega-50 has nullified the little RP we had going with the Zoners there. Granted, it was rather minor roleplay.

I trust that the Coalition will get a little bit of love in the coming revisions, at the very least one base outside of Omega-52. We're not THAT small and pathetic of a faction, we can generally hold our own and our little Fortress-52 is in a very nice strategic location.

I'll trust your judgement though, at the end of the day I can already see much opportunity in Omega-49, especially with the Corsair Battleship rolling in so there's that. Plus, quicker access to Dublin means we can be more responsive and better assist the Molly's if they need our help.

Dense roids suck (also for snubs, but especially for caps).

I like that. But you might change position of JHs to 52 and 41 between themself. 41 is closer to corsair part of space then Hessians, and Coalition in my eyes should get exit closer to their allies territory. Just my two cents.

What I cannot take any more is factions that purely make their cool progress and all their most badass actions in the time between updates.

a Thought maybe add an Orbital Spa and Cruise base out in 49? I always wondered why systems that are so brightly lit never had anything like that. Would be interesting considering the already existent Corsair presence there.

I don't think O-49 will be a good idea for a Resort. Especially given it'll quickly become a battlefield between the SCRA, RoS and Corsairs.

With the Fes in Omega-49, well... The Coalition has the perfect excuse to increase their military presence there.

Is there any reason for the removal of the Omega 9 hole in Omega 55?

... Not really. I've forgotten to restore it for that map.

moving Aland 10k backwards from the lane junction would cut the trick just fine.

Even the the moving of Falster from O7 gate won't cut it, because the piracy should be at the lanes. There's also the problem with the jumping charge. All in all - it's just not feasible to count on a Jump gate as a chokepoint. Far better off would be a trade lane.

As for the rest of the sytems - why should RoS get a base in O-7? I mean, it makes far more logical that one of local, more powerful and influential, pirate groups would build one.

Sometimes the underdog flies under the radar... both literally and metaphorically, in this case. I realise it may seem to be an unlikely scenario, but "just another Hessian/Corsair base" would be too easy to pirate from.

Alright, now that I've finished getting a reaction out of some SCRA players: that comment was a generalisation. As I said to Aphil over Skype, the reason the Coalition hasn't received any bases (at least at this point in time) is that there's a lack of good candidates, and that the removal of Omega-50 is intended to alleviate the faction's travel time issues in the area, reducing the need for a forward staging post towards the Bretonian side of the Omegas.

The only option I've come up with so far would be the Hessian base in Omega-47 changing hands to the Coalition.

Unfortunately I don't think I can do much about the density of static asteroids. I can, however, add exclusion zones along the most travelled paths to permit capital ships to reach the stations and the Hammen Hole.

The Omega-41 -> Omega-5 Jump Hole is actually going to move to the northern side of Omega-41, the more Hessian-influenced side, so that's why the Omega-5 Holes are where they are now. The idea is that the Corsairs reach Omega-5 by Gamma -> 41 -> 47 -> 5, if they want to take the safest route through their own space.

A prototype Coalition destroyer with Plot Device Warheads suffered a malfunction while travelling through an Omega-50 Jump Hole, self-destructing and generating a massive spatial anomaly, destabilising all Jump Holes into the system. The resulting quantum singularity caused the star to go supernova. How does that sound?

Omega-49 is far too dangerous for a comapny like OS&C. However, they do have agents on board Grand Vista Orbital, in order to keep an eye on developments in the system. If the local factions stopped fighting, and Bretonia managed to build a Jump Gate to Omega-49... well that would be a whole new story.
