well, the xenos are allowed in RP to use advanced debs, not improved ones, cause they only raid detroit and not pueblo though.

so - whats the RP about them wanting to develope their own if they can easily get the advanced ones?

i hate to bring up the "xenos are not exactly the genious faction" argument. - but whats closer to our understanding of xeno RP. - that they use stolen stuff? - or that they develop and derive new stuff from stolen stuff?

i dont wanne say they are lazy bums with no technical understanding. - but they sure are not comparable to the corsairs and the outcasts.

My original idea isn't that they wanted to develop their own, just that they made a raid on Pueblo to steal some Improved Debs, but the heart of the weapons were damaged in the process. A little duct tape and baling wire later, and they manage to adapt the Black Widow core to the units, creating a Particle/Pulse hybrid. The pairing is not without its drawbacks, of course.

The particle pulse is basically a packet of charged particles that have an unusually strong electromagnetic field. It couples the shield eating abilities of the pulse weapons with the graviton-devouring ability of the particle weapons. The packet is more stable than the typical pulse weapon, but the muzzle velocity of the packet is not as high. The jury rigged nature of the weapon decreases the damage it can do, while increasing the amount of power needed to create the pulse.

My idea was never to have them rival the Corsair guns power-wise. Like I said, stats are debatable, but some of the proposals are unrealistic, so to speak.

Here's my idea:

Range - 650

Energy Usage - ~135-140
Blast type: Particle/Pulse hybrid (For coding purposes, it would be Particle)

fast moving short range high damage energy hogs = Xeno Guns.

The Xenos like to take what they can get and hotwire it up some. Remove all of that cumbersome rad shielding/safety bits and see if they can pump a few more watts into it without the gun exploding at the first pull of the trigger.

Give her the same moving stats as the current Xeno line with the appropriate boost in damage to make her relevant any mebbe there'd be justification for such a weapon even existing. That being said I'd just as see a deb cannon exist as anything else.

Okay, so if we do give it the same speed and range as the Black Widow, as well as a slightly higher power drain, that should put it about on par with the Debi's. With my proposal, it will be particle based instead of a true pulse weapon, resulting in more damage to Graviton shields, again just like the Black Widow.

For reference:

Shield Damage - 635 - still slightly lower than the Debs, but the Particle type will offset this against Graviton Shields, which are normally resistant to Pulse weapons.
Hull Damage - 37
Range - 600 - Same as Deb and Tizzie.
Speed - 700
Power Usage - 140 - Slightly lower than Tizona, but higher than Imp. Deb.

Looks mighty sexy. Problem being that only pulse weapons can go around the 1/2 damage difference.

Meaning, every gun in the mod gives 1/2 shield damage that she does hull damage but pulse weapons. No way to get around it that I know of.

Why should Xenos have better matching gun than all those?

So, how does the DEFILER (the one Boss was thinking of below) work then? I know it's not Particle type, but it's also not Pulse type, at least according to the wiki.

Your second point is exactly why I gave them something different in my original specs. I only gave them the Black Widow's speed/range because "that's what all Xeno guns are"...

As for balancing the particle type, that's why I originally gave it less damage than the other pulse weapons. Plus, I have a feeling that the particle type would remove the energy sapping effect of the pulse weapons hitting the hull.

I think what some people are missing is that these aren't Xeno designed weapons, they're Ageira designs cobbled together with parts the Xenos had laying around.

Black widows do more shield damage per second then this.

I'd say some 2500-3000 shield damage, 1.0 refire, if you want it to be different.

2000 shield damage, 20 hull damage, 0.5 refire, 550 range, 600 m/s speed? Sounds like something the xenos would come up with.

all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.

I guess you meant DEFILER :

And I didn't describe it. If you compare, you'll see that my suggestion has 2.5k shield damage per second, while DEFILER has 6k damage per second.
Not even close.

It's an NPC weapon only, and no one should be able to get one.
