' Wrote:Go play the game, within the given limitations. That is how role play games are played. Not by trying to work around those limitations or whining about them.
My problem is the same one we have had with every single other Order factions we've had show up in Disco.
Civil war
Let me put some facts out.
Order space is 2 systems. Bs| owns Omicron 100 and controls Omicron Minor. I have in my time tried my best to connect Bs| members with Order indies and I like how things turned out. We all made agreements etc. and play peacefully together.
As for Order government is concerned. You could click the Orders Member's database or whatever ti is on my Sig and see the ranks used by all players, both Bs| and not. You will see that the 4 Bs| admirals are the 4 Order admirals. One of each class and 4 in total. Any more of that level showing up will immedatly lead to conflict.
If you would like, type in OTF into the search engine. They were out last civil war and it didn't end to well. We fought them with the support of our allies and won.
Now, things you will need to know when you play:
-Bs| controls the Order as it is so please listen to my men no matter what your ranks is. We have been in Disco for years and know the strings etc. Let's try not to have any power struggles as that's how civil war starts and I don't want that.
Actually, why not try out Bs|? I invite all your members to play on Disco for a while as independants until they learn how things go, and then perhaps join Bs|? We do everything the Order does as we are the Order and we don't have any problems.
So yes, I ask you to please consider this because the only thing I want is to avoid any sort of internal Order-Order conflict.
edit- some things I noticed:
-Your space is everywhere known and unknown? I highly advise you not to leave Omicron space. The Order has fragile status with many factions as many do not know who or what we are, so I ask you not to jeopardize this.
-secondly, what you do is what Bs| does, so your purpose is part of ours? If you do something that is one of the things Bs| does, why not try out Bs|?
Well I have to say, I am very impressed about the way you have handled the criticism thrown at you. It really shows alot, and makes the community much more comfortable with you. I am sorry to hear you folks dont want to be Corsairs anymore (being a Corsair Elder myself) but so it goes. I would like to personally offer my help, I have been here for a good while and have been through the faction approval process before, if you have any questions or need someone from disco to read something and give you feedback before you post it, just send me off a PM, I would be happy to help. You seem to be a good guy, and we like good people here.
PS: Sorry for the harshness of my first post, we get alot of fly by night clans here who come in trying to make us adjust to the way they play, and so we tend to get a bit defensive about it here.
PSS: Fallout 3 does Rawk dont it. We have several Fallout freaks here.
I'd like to see, in the document itself, some more colors...The diplomacy would very much benifit from being color coded from green to red, allied to hostile.
Quote:EQUIPMENT LIST
Equipment allowed is Order and Civilian equipment. Some Allied, Friendly, and Neutral equipment may also be used in limited amounts.
That, also, has me a bit curious...Order and Civilian guns, sure. But, as for Allied, Friendly, and Neutral equipment? As far as I can tell, the only things you can fit into that category without upsetting someone will be the Zoner mini razor...and I'm not sure what else you might want, unless you're eyeing the coladas...which would not be met with the most appreciation.
This is the work and justifications as posted by my friend and fellow clanmate Remora.
"First of all, This was posted in response to all comments/concerns up to Swissscorch's post (#22)
I (Remora) Didn't intend our group RP to be posted yet, because we are not in a position to begin to be recognized as an official faction. This was an outline for our group, which was supposed to be sent next as a request for Special RP status first in PMs with Admins, and then move on to eventual officialness once our RP and presence became somewhat established. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention that little detail to my Faction leader, and as a result our faction has jumped the gun. I personally do not have access to the forums yet, for some reason my registration did not go through. I e-mailed Igiss on the issue and am waiting for a response back.
Do not doubt, I put a lot of time, thought, and research into this whole RP style though.
I've read everyone's comments, and appreciate the time and effort you all have spent in reading and responding to this, although I disagree with the attitude of removing the ships. The ship list is supposed to show the diverse range of groups that the Legion gets new recruits from. I even thought of maxing the order ships, but came to the conclusion that Order sympathizers to the cause would probably keep the Legion supplied with Order weapons.
Up front and base line---
We want to play hard line Nomad haters seeking and destroying any alien (not just nomad) influence in the known universe. Think Spanish Inquisition.
Our Faction alignments are based under the principle of us flying into people's territory and policing against Nomads. The order won't appreciate the stuff we do, hence "Unfriendly." Some people would appreciate it, hence historically hated become "Neutral" instead. I debated making all Lawful house military to Hostile, but hadn't made a decision on how we would be seeing the military houses in the area.
We did not have a civil war with the order. We are a bunch of nuts who left the order. There wasn't any fighting. It was just a group that stopped following the order and left. There was no fighting required, because there was no proximity to fight. There is a big difference between what we are doing and what the Order does. The Order respects other factions. Our lack of Territory makes us more of a Terrorist group than a Faction, but our sole and only base is the Order Battleship that we stole. I will happily work with the order to improve our RP to an acceptable level. I am quite capable of turning that one "Concept Paragraph" into a complex storyline. In fact, I planned to anyway, but it was going to be with the Admins, explaining where and why I came up with things, and adjusting things to be acceptable. This was going to go through the equipment list and everything. Don't mistake us for some foolish PVP only group that has no RP skills. We have alot of talent and put some serious thought into this. We are new to this server and RP freelancer, but we aren't off to power game. We've got no problems adjusting what is/isn't allowed to keep our Roleplay, which the base concept has been a "Space Gypsie" type of group. A Place without a "Home", where the "home" is where the ships are. The best way I could see this going on with us being (mostly) not hated system-wide are an Order Inquisition-like setup. Everything else breaks the RP of the faction involved quite a bit more, this one at least is plausible.
Here are the justifications for everything we have put
AFFILIATION AND ID - We are a Breakaway Order group. A bunch of Nuts that left the order. The IFF marker sends a tiny burst of pre-identification specifying we are Armageddon order. The primary relations and expected reaction to our presence should for the time being be similar to the Order, hence an Order IFF and ID. However, we aren't very friendly in our fanatical quest.
DIPLOMACY AND GOALS - I view this is our stance to others, not our stance to them. We are friendly to the historical Order-Friendly groups, but we don't get along well with the order because they are too weak on the parts of humanity that allow the alien in. Think "Military that considers all things alien as contraband" and then expand the military to think they own all of space. I expect the navy forces of all houses to consider us terrorist-like. I've already started playing as such. I also anticipate that the unlawfuls will frown on us too. That doesn't mean we will be terrorist, we have a very clear goal of ridding humanity of the weak elements that bring in alien influence. Nomad weapons, Nomad ships, nomad cargo, Alien Organisms, All of that.
ZONE OF INFLUENCE (ZOI) - The Legion wouldn't reconize borders. The alien menace spreads whereever mankind lives, and therefore must be confronted in all of those places.
SHIP LIST
LFs:
*Arwing - The Corsairs have a closer relationship to the order as a whole, and would be a source of some of the Legion's recruits. The legion broke away from the Order, recruiting from all sources to defeat the internal corruption that is the alien subversion.
*Dagger - The Border Worlds suffer the most from Nomads. As a result, at least one, if not several pilots would come from there. Expecially Outcasts, whom have a jumphole into Nomad space.
*Decurion - The Corsairs have a closer relationship to the order as a whole, and would be a source of some of the Legion's recruits. The legion broke away from the Order, recruiting from all sources to defeat the internal corruption that is the alien subversion.
*Griffin - A Civilian ship. It can be bought by anyone.
*Hawk - A Civilian ship. It can be bought by anyone.
*Legionniare - The Corsairs have a closer relationship to the order as a whole, and would be a source of some of the Legion's recruits. The legion broke away from the Order, recruiting from all sources to defeat the internal corruption that is the alien subversion.
*Scimitar - The Border Worlds suffer the most from Nomads. As a result, at least one, if not several pilots would come from there. Expecially Outcasts, whom have a jumphole into Nomad space.
*Starblazer - A Civilian ship. It can be bought by anyone.
*Starflier - A Civilian ship. It can be bought by anyone.
*Startracker - A Civilian ship. It can be bought by anyone.
HFs:
*Anubis - An order ship. Given that the breakaway occured from the order, there are likely to be sympathizers remaing in the order. This has the effect of bringing people right from the Order into the Legion. Likewise, supplies and equipment probably would come from friends remaining in the order as well.
*Centurion - The Corsairs have a closer relationship to the order as a whole, and would be a source of some of the Legion's recruits. The legion broke away from the Order, recruiting from all sources to defeat the internal corruption that is the alien subversion.
*Crow - The Border Worlds suffer the most from Nomads. As a result, at least one, if not several pilots would come from there. Expecially Outcasts, whom have a jumphole into Nomad space.
*Falcon - A Civilian ship. It can be bought by anyone.
*Stiletto - The Border Worlds suffer the most from Nomads. As a result, at least one, if not several pilots would come from there. Expecially Outcasts, whom have a jumphole into Nomad space. The Stiletto would not be a common ship, however, since Legion flying in corsair space would want to avoid an incident that the Stiletto would cause.
*Talon - An order ship. Given that the breakaway occured from the order, there are likely to be sympathizers remaing in the order. This has the effect of bringing people right from the Order into the Legion. Likewise, supplies and equipment probably would come from friends remaining in the order as well.
VHFs:
*Blood Dragon - This one I kept switching between leaving in for the same reason as the Blood Dragon Gunboat and removing. In the end, I do agree that it wouldn't be realistic for the Legion of Armageddon to have the Blood Dragon.
*Eagle - A Civilian ship. It can be bought by anyone.
*Nephthys - An order ship. Given that the breakaway occured from the order, there are likely to be sympathizers remaing in the order. This has the effect of bringing people right from the Order into the Legion. Likewise, supplies and equipment probably would come from friends remaining in the order as well.
*Raven's Talon - A Civilian ship. It can be bought by anyone.
*Sabre - The Border Worlds suffer the most from Nomads. As a result, at least one, if not several pilots would come from there. Expecially Outcasts, whom have a jumphole into Nomad space. The Stiletto would not be a common ship, however, since Legion flying in corsair space would want to avoid an incident that the Stiletto would cause.
*Stinger - A Civilian ship. It can be bought by anyone.
*Titan - The Corsairs have a closer relationship to the order as a whole, and would be a source of some of the Legion's recruits. The legion broke away from the Order, recruiting from all sources to defeat the internal corruption that is the alien subversion.
*Viper - Origionally Developed on a Order world, the full details and ability to access shipyards to get some of these built probably exist within the Legion.
*Viper II - Origionally Developed on a Order world, the full details and ability to access shipyards to get some of these built probably exist within the Legion.
Bombers:
*Civilian Bomber - A Civilian ship. It can be bought by anyone.
*Praetorian - The Corsairs will probably have a larger problem giving away a Bomber than a Fighter, and as such would have to be someone well connected in the Legion with the Legion's sympathizers.
*Falcata - Some of the Legioneer Members are devoted to the most brutal forms of combat. The Border Worlds will occasionally allow one of these people to have one of their bombers due to help given against Nomads.
Gunboats:
*Corsair Gunboat - The Corsairs will probably have a larger problem giving away a Gunboat, and as such would have to be someone well connected in the Legion with the Legion's sympathizers.
*Dragon Gunboat - Occasionally, you get such an odd ship out there that you can only scratch your head and wonder "Where the heck did they get that?". Anyone who has ever seen a US Marine Gunner with an AK47 will have had a moment like that. It happens in every group, some guy is just so good at getting odd stuff and has the rank to use it. It is also allowed by the Assassin, who has a tendancy to get odd weapons due to the nature of his solitary work.
Cruiser:
*Corsair Cruiser - Getting their hands on a cruiser would be very difficult, and as such there wouldn't be very many of them at all.
Battleship:
*An Osiris Class Battleship {(LoA)-ALS.Diapente_Equitis-(LoA)} - It was taken on the breakaway. There is only one. The name will change, because it is too long anyway. If our RP is accepted, this would come from a long and elaborate story. I won't put too much effort into it until we can hammer out the Mechanics of the RP, because a long, elaborate story tends to have details that aren't true when the mechanics of the world it was written about change.
Freighters, Liners, Transports:
None Allowed - The Legion aren't traders. This brings no benefit to eliminating the threat of the Alien to make Humanity stronger for the final confrontation
EQUIPMENT LIST - This has not been prepared.
RANKING - These are our ranks, not yours. For all intents and purposes, there are 5 ranks, Plus two "special" Ranks.

Fleet Master Chief Petty Officer
--Officer--
Assassin

As posted by Remora on LoA forums and posted here by myself. But we will be asking for a lot of help with our faction role by everyone here that knows what they are doing and talking about when it comes to RPing. Thanks again for your feedback people.
I don't see the relevance of your name to your goals and demeanor. The Order (breakaway or not) is devoted to rid Sirius of the Nomads. This is an attempt of... justice, niceness, not much "armageddon".
Also, the BW line really isn't needed, and doesn't equate to the Order. They aren't Outcast ships, which is what is forgotten all too often, but they still don't fit the profile IMO. The Falcata, however, is an Outcast developed vessel. That one has to go.
Dragons don't share their ships. Those are immediately out. (Apologies if you've already agreed on this.)
ZoI(nfluence) and ZoI(nterest) are two different things. As the Order, it would be Omi-100 and Minor as your zone of INFLUENCE. The Order does indeed go everywhere, because Nomads go everywhere, but that's not classified as their ZoI.
I have say I'm apprehensive about another Order faction, but you guys are willing to listen and you have some sense. I like that, and I wish you guys well. If you need any help, feel free to let me know.
