Yo amigos the community is not goin to grow why? cuz the game is owned by Microsoft and they dont gib a fuk bout this game its abandoned forget bout it also even if somehow the game gets published on gog.com we can't have any updates cuz microsoft owns the game and the only updates we can get have to be made by them . But if you want the discovery GC to grow there's a chance but its small cuz most players nowdays play hardcore PVP games / esports .

It should be noted that as of yesterday, the ISO for the vanila freelancer has been added to the downloads section.

The idea of hosting an .iso for Freelancer has been thrown around here and there, though da' law is scary and we'd rather not make the risk just in case some people come after us for it.

One of the members here mentioned he knew a place where it was being hosted already, and has offered to ask if we can use his website as a download location. I'm hoping that we get somewhere with that.

Being able to provide people with the normal Freelancer game along with the mod would be an excellent way to boost up numbers.

Only way to get Freelancer is from thisisozone , http://www.theisozone.com/downloads/pc/w...reelancer/

i just dont want the risk of the forum being shut down, after all this time, everyone knows someone that can get hold of a copy

Goddangit Tunicle, why didn't you bring this up sooner! (Though I guess you were never asked)

I'm just gonna.. make a link of that in the 'Download Mod' thread..

i wouldn t make at a link in the download section, imagine if some busy body found out that this forum was advertising illegal downloads....it would only take a few seconds of the idiots DDosing us that they will try to cause more hassles and then possiblly...goodbye forum

No need to worry !
See that info near uploader name :

That ISO is on site for 5 years now , with nearly 50000 downloads , i can assure you , it will NOT will be taken down so easily ! We host only Retro games there , no modern consoles , steam or games never that 2008 , we host games that are not selling anymore ! (sun)

We would only get into trouble if we hosted the file on our server. So stop worrying about nonsense.

You probably know no real hardcore PvP games, aight?
While actually Freelancer could be a very nice discipline in case it had modern engine and code. Since like 2006 there were various fan-started projects to rebuild the game (most of them being Unity-based), all of them currently being dead. I only know 1 such alive project, being sloooooooowly developed at the moment.
