If this server gets to the point where I am more concerned about being sanctioned and/or sanctioning
someone, you can bet I will be leaving.

And people are a problem everywhere. Family, friends, work, social environments. As in RL, disco is full with people who will annoy you. Here you can avoid them. Can you avoid the in RL?

My point: You're having more frustration than fun?

Either deal with it, or it's not worth it.....

You have misunderstood me. Im just telling that the game, and Discovery as a whole can be much better place if people behave more gently, so to say. I dont want to sound somehow bad, altough if you go thru all the avatars and ships, theres is a human on the end of the line... So why we cant behave like humans to each other? All the flaming, offending, reporting and shouting just makes the place much worse than it really is.

Yes, you are right. But some people won't change, no matter how hard you try. I know it gets frustrating, but what are the options here?

1) Get over it
2) Leave
3) Flame and insult back
4) Try to convince the others of what they've done.

I don't know, I guess it must be real hard to get reported and shouted at, specially if you (think) are innocent. But it happens, it happens all the time.

I always try to let go. Not saying it always works, but I've had so much crap happen to me in RL, when I get here, I won't let some immature kid spoil all my fun.

The moment that happens, I'm outta here. IMHO, so should everyone else who is not having fun, and tried in every possible and conceivable way to turn that around....

If your mindless attempts to insult us fall well below the expected standard of English language usage on this forum, you will find yourself wearing your next takeaway, instead of eating it sir.

Well lot of very fine people think about leaving or already left, its just a pity. If you dont want to use opinions 2 and 3, and find out that 4 is impossible to do, theres only opinion 1. And you have to sreen everything as counter insults. It kinda annoying, but you have to do it to live.

This server is becoming a place not to fly and enjoy the game, but an exercise in remembering to take endless screenshots of everything one says to make sure one can counter unfair accusations.
This is not what this game is supposed to be. I am currently evaluating if there is any point of continuing to play here.

I know how you feel. Move servers?

' Wrote:Some people playing here are too screen shot happy.

I am SS happy. I know that because of what I post on this forum, the chances of getting sanctioned for some minor rule is more than likely, hence take many SS' and be able to provide an alternate explanation.

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

People are just figuring this out now? The minute I logged onto disco for the first time about a year ago I was well aware of all the unfair tactics and arrogant mind states I would have to brave. Even so I did my best to make it good fun for myself. Often there are just days where nothing on the server feels right or even worthy of being involved in. Just find what suits you and your feelings while not rudely brushing up on others, and ignore all the personal lashes you may have to endure from others simply because they had an issue while someone who has the same tag/ID/ship as you do.

Much like I prevent the atrocities of people of the past from clouding my judgment of how I feel about their descendants. I'm a Black American, so I often witness biased actions based on the actions of others of a specific race to another race, but even so I do not and will not weigh the crimes of one in addition to his "peoples' " history. I believe ignorance faced with ignorance will only bring about the former. This same idea could be applied here or...anywhere for that matter. Also know your own flaws and tendencies and know them well, for it might be you at fault. Ultimately just remember to give yourself a break from all the bull**** once in a while and remind yourself everyone else is just trying to find a place to have a good time just like you.

I haven't played on the GC server in a few weeks now but it seems to me from reading the forums that some players are getting sanctioned for some stuff be it minor or major rule infractions is not the point and then reporting other players whom they might dislike for doing the same thing. As i see it if they or one of their group gets sanctioned for something and then they see some one else do the exact same thing and they report it whats the big deal. Admit it most of us would do the same thing only instead of the player who broke the rule getting sanctioned the one who reports them gets it for being vindictive. Excuse me? It should not matter WHY the report was filed if there was a violation of the rules then the player who broke them should be punished regardless of weather or not the player reporting it hated their guts or not. By that thinking anyone who has killed you in a PvP fight could break the rules and if you report them you could be sanctioned for holding a grudge. Yes that is extreme but it is about the same thing as what has happened lately in the GC server according to sanction threads.

If one breaks the rules they should be punished period. If it is revealed that you tried to entrap that person in some way you should get finned for entrapment. Many times I see players breaking the rules. Flying their big shiny rogue gunboat with order turrets. And I report when I feel like it. If I'm too lazy to file out a sanction report then big deal. Some people are motivated to report because they had a bad day. Regardless of their ulterior motive rule violation evidence should serve as justification to punish the offenders.

The way things work here is wrong.

dito Hyung... He got it precisely

Of all the online games I played. I've seen lots of "bad players" but less rules. Although, the game was still enjoyable. Here, I'm starting to see the opposite. There is a lot of bad players...yes, but since there is a lot of rules, all asking the player to rely on the admin to solve his problem, all those bad players, are even worst...

I'm just tired of people dictating to me how I should role play.

I've got one pirate who is currently abstaining from piracy because I'm tired of all the over zealous lawfuls. Not that all lawfuls are over zealous. But there are too many out there who plain don't listen and would rather kill you than speak with you.

ALL of my characters are presently in neutral, non-hostile status at present in protest to all the crap that I'm experiencing in game.

I'm tired of the rule lawyers telling me how I'm supposed to act with my characters. I'm tired of hearing "engaging target" on comms and seeing guns blazing within seconds of spotting someone "red" on their radar.

Of all the Bounty Hunters I've encountered here, DW have been the most noble. They only hunt you if you have a bounty on your head. Too many hunters out there are acting like House Police and House Military than Bounty Hunter. Sorry you're in this situation Suzanna.
