FL VHFs always had the ability to mount 1 torpedo and as many missiles the player wanted on the VHF. It was like this years ago on many servers and nobody was complaining like a baby. Learn to dodge projectiles and use those 100+ countermeasures you've been given.

Did you even read? What about players with cloaks? Projectiles are not easy to dodge if shot correctly and the problem is more like you can have a torpedo AND a CD

I've been playing on servers in the past where players had 2 torpedoes and 1 CD. Torpedoes had even faster speed and turn rate. They're not that hard to avoid considering we have many types of countermeasures and a lot of ammunition. There are ways to fly and avoid them. Plus one disruptor and they explode in the enemy's face.

I personally disagree with the fact that torps are the norm. It takes the skill out of PvP snub fights. One second your dueling, then WHOOP your dead. Cm's don't work to well because the torps still cause splash. Personally I don't give a hoot about how long the fight is, the longer it is the better the reward at the end. The more hard fought, the better (That's what i think).

The torps sort of make the fighting boring. Jousting is rendered useless. No more boxing or jousting. If there is any, it's hard. I was in a fight in Tau-44 earlier today, the guy was using torps. Now, the fight wasn't as fun. Not because he almost killed me, but the fact that it's an instant kill at close range if you don't have much hull left. You have to constantly use nano's and Sb's. The whole skill of boxing and jousting is toast cause of this. Early turning still works, but the joust and boxing has been brutally affected by this. I feel like the challenge has been cut short for me, the extreme interest I once had in learning about snubs is gone.

Here's an analogy for you: When guns in RL first came about, the old knights couldn't stand a chance. The (honorable) way of fighting was toast. Now it was different, took less skill to kill someone. It didn't take manpower, sweat, blood. It did, but not that much as opposed to sword combat. Just moving your finger and you win. The fun with snubs is the length, the skill, the outmatching your opponent, out turning him, trying to aim right, pressing keys in order while doing all these things. When torps are added into the equation, its all luck. Firing your torp doesn't take skill. It auto-locks. Then, with luck, you win. Not skill. Yes, you can dodge them, but it's hard to do that while shooting your guns.

Maybe I just suck and can't adjust, but by seeing other people agreeing with me, and the fact that I'm not utter trash at snub PvP, it makes me think otherwise.

What is Heavy, Maltese, and has two, count em, TWO Cruise disruptors, and a Class 10? The Carabela Heavy Fighter, of course.
That's right boys and girls, I can CD you twice as hard.

I'm guessing an oversight... plz let us do two Class 10s :p

I read several times now that this change would make shieldrunning worse. Are there any ideas on how to make it less attractive to shieldrun? One idea I had would be making thrusters less effective, so you'll deplete your thrust meter quicker. If you can't thrust profusely, you can't shieldrun.

I don't see how it made things worse if you have guns and can shoot.

Currently unable to consistently be present in the Community due to life constraints.

Shield-Running problems ?

-Make all LF able to equip maximum that 800 HP Shield Capacity ,
-Make all HF/VHF able to mount maximum that 2000 HP Shield Capacity ,
-Make all SHF/Bombers be able to equip maximum that 5000 HP Shield Capacity ,
-Reduce Shield batteries number to be able to completely restore shield 1 time only .

Snubs will be forced to either stay and fight , or to retreat from fight completely , no more that annoying shield running .
Plus , not much hard work required to change all , it is relatively simple process .

right i have not read this post but i want to remind you all, this fighter update was not suposed to be implented already.

In the next patch we get stuff for the new fighters to balance things out , just wait and see what those extra,s will give us and if we still dont like it then we can always ask for a revert Smile
