This creates a two-tier system, where good RPers fly big ships, and the less good RPers are basically given a license to break the rules in fighters.

... I do not agree here.
The best RPers I've seen would prefer a bomber or fighter than a capital ship.

That is a -massive- untruth.

A battleship has greater firepower and thicker armour than anything else in the mod. There is no way (as in actualy impossible) that a bomber can destroy a battleship on it's own, the shield regenerates too quickly.

It takes a phenominal bomber pilot to even come close to soloing a cruiser.

Now please explain how bomber > battleship...

As to the suggestiong here, as much as I like it's core idea, I can't think of who would be willing to put the time into this in order to organise it and keep it running. I think introducing this level of beaurocracy would ultimately end in the system just falling to peices through neglect and over complexity.

Agh, gentlemen, let's leave the subject whos gun is bigger to other threads and concentrate on this subject

If we quickly summarize what we have spoken we could say:

There is a necessity to educate new members. The originally proposed system wont work because there is too much work with everything. But we surely could use some sort of tutoring support. That tutoring support could be used for new players (who wish it) and for players that cause troubles.

With the reference to your posts I propose 2 things:

FIRST: That we prepare a printable document: A quick guide through Sirius
We just put all stuff together, polish it and make it downloadable. And modify it with time

SECOND: We organize tutoring by.

- Selecting a team of people who are willing to teach.
- Organize regular seminars at fixed hours. (For example once per week)
- We post all basic info about this in the server chat bar.
- We use team speak (or some other means of verbal communication)
- And then everyone interested just shows up at designated hour on TS and waits for the course.
- Problematic players, :crazy:who get sanctioned, could have a chance to reactivate their characters after joining one of the courses. :D

Surrender now!!!

Running is pointless. We will hunt you into the farthest depths of Sirius.

What?

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

1. If this happens. Im going to explode in rage and thats not good for new york system.

2. Bad idea, Cap ships are already being restricted.

there are too many heavy ships at one fraction, that ships license fee my rise dramatically (For example if there are 100 Outcast destroyers vs 10 Corsair destroyers the participating fee for Outcast destroyer may rise from 100 mil to 700 mil or even more )

THAT is called dictating roleplay, which is NOT fun.

- It is the instructors responsibility to judge weather the candidate is qualified enough (enough gaming knowledge, age, personality, attitude,) to be trusted with a warship.
That can differ, With opinon, Personal vendettas, ect.

The license price will be the tool to control the numbers.

This NEVER effects ANYTHING. Battleships could be 2 billion, people WILL still get it.

Prevent the under age children (who dont have their persona developed yet) to spoil the game.

I am fourteen, and I know several other "Children" That are VERY good RP'ers, PRECISELY because they are kids.

This is a terrible idea. Just plain and simply awful. People learn by watching others in-game, not by being force-fed information on the forums.

Not to mention, this is just too much work for the Admin team we have now. Since I joined, we've lost BULLDOGNK, DBoy, Caylith, and Vero. We've really only gained Laowai.

People have lives, y'know. You gotta consider that before you post something like this. Volunteer or not, there aren't enough people.

In that case... I win at life. Or bombing for that matter!

But... While this is a good idea'ish there are still matters left from this - And most capwhoring rulebreakers would probably buy the Cap anyways and get sanctioned for "NUT HAEV LIE-SEN-ZE!" thus it mostly negates the whole purpose.

Vero took a break a while back, to my understanding.

Doesn't Majkp run the server?

I said it before . . . I'll say it again. The Roleplay Mod I used to be on (And modded for) would ONLY sell certain ships to clan members. If you did not have the tag/code in your file, you saw a blank space on the pad at the ship dealer.
This is an easy task to do. And less work than "Sanction reports".
So, (for example) only a Corsair clan leader could authorise a member in the purchase of a Corsair Gunboat. I did it with my clan. I posted the member in good standing on the forum AFTER a 2 week evaluation period. They started off in a clan Modded fighter, then soon after, the second ship. (depended on the clan).
We clan leaders were the teachers. I would not wish for someone else to teach my clan members how to RP my clan.
Here, for example, is the Junker Congress .:j:., and they do a great job (so far) with this practice.
Not only how to RP "Junkers" but how to interact in many situations at Disco.
See what works here and do more of it. Take a lesson from .:j:. please.

I used to RP in my BH Battleship. Used to until BH was fouled up and given a bad rep. I have yet to "Kill" another player in it or really desire to do so.
I do NPC missions in it now. That's it.
I like to RP, that is what is important. But I can't anymore in that ship.
I can not take it out of Omega-15. Last time I stuck my nose out I was immediately called a "Cap-whore" on system chat.
However, 5 players with credits can go to Crete, each get a Gunboat with bad IFF's and tags and attack traders in OORP locations. (Role-Play?? . . . "Pay or Die!!")
 Go fiqure.
Note: A fighter and a bomber made short work of me and "it" 2 weeks ago right over Rostock.
So this Battleship is a mighty vessel is a bunch of nonsense. I am a sitting duck in the thing.

So . . . My suggestions.

Make it so only the people who are screened by established clans -> can get a Cap-ship (Or Clan ship).
This is easy to do and you do not need a password protected server to do it.
This places more responsibilty on the clan (As a whole), and less on the Admins. That is incentive enough to do the right thing.

Battleships are not the end all-be all. They blow up real good, trust me. So did my Cruiser. All I heard was "Engage!" and 45 seconds later, me going boom!
A pack of Pirate gunboats are far deadlier and can be potentialy more of a OORP problem.
Stop selling Corsair Gunboats and Outcast cruisers in places that anyone can buy them.

The Conneticut system is the out-of-the-way-hidie-hole for PVP and OORP. Use it.
Make the next update use this sytem for new players. They "must" go there to get something to continue playing. (Or start there from the get-go.)
Change the Jump-hole to a gate.
Maybe they can't leave unless they do something . . . Don't know if that can be done.
While there, they are bombarded with Rules and Regs. There are many easy ways to do this at least.
Also, Manhattan will not be the mess it is now. New players see a cluster there and think that is what happens everywhere. They get bad ideas right at the birth canal.
"Plz give me monie$ for a gunboat! plz :-)"
"who can I shoot! I hate RP."
. . . and so on

Cloister the New players. Those that are mature enough to last the few minutes of doing what they need to do may continue. This should weed out some A.D.D. problem children.

You can't force players to come to the Forum to learn, but you can force them into a system, bottle them up and spit em out when they show they have more than "2" brain cells.
We have many good players here . . . in all types of factions/clans. Give them the tools to teach "In-game".
