And @ Nadis, look we can't afford to let all new players have months to learn by themselves. Don't you think about the fact that they'd spoil the game for many people with their ignorance(Bad, Can Be Fixed) and un-willingness to learn(Bad)?

Hey all i am one of newbies got punished and one of guys swift is talking about. I leaved from server yes, but it was for very short time.Only reason i am back and eating my own *khm* u know what is because there is not good server with cap ship fights so i am forced to come back and wait until ban is over.I am kinda in love with cap ship fighs..they look so gdmn good. From my short but painfull expiriance only one thing is wrong with behavior with nub pilots like myself is not enough will from admins to hear other side of story before ban,cash `n` weapons taking out. It really hit your feeling hard. Ok i am quilty and i know i made mistake..but can u at least give me chance to defend myself. Maybe i am hurted more than damage i made and i am banned only because i did not report first and i don`t know how to post image i made just in case....Anyway my opinion is that admins are really lucky they have BEST mod in their hand or a lot of people would leave long time ago only because of bad treatmant from admins or other players. I guess i really understand u swift and pm of support from you really mean lot for me and people like u make me belive there is hope for this server.
Oh and one thing offtopic for admins....14 days is over unbaned me, yea?

Stile, if your ban is over, you should go post in the appropriate Sanction report thread (i.e. the one you were banned in) and kindly ask an Administrator to un-ban your account.

Swift if you say to a new player that: you came here for nothing! when he is here just for flying a cap ship. You think many players whould ever stayd here?:)

Like there is any way to spoil game to those who all day post in forum giving sanctions to noobies? Somehow it allways goes like that they kill nobie and just after that they say and post what he did wrong. That kind of stuff teaches noobies and for that they need time.;)

When noobies are told to read server rools yes they does that but the first time they allways reads only surfes. So again they need time to remember details.

Most comon message from noobie is SRY I DIDNT KNOWN THAT. This is one big server you cant just tell them what they can do and what they cant and expect them to remember that tomorow...

So Give Them Time.;)

Im sure im going to beaten for saying this, but the rules are'nt there as a punishment to the person, but also as a deterrent and a lesson to be learned by other players. If you read the sanction reports, you will sometimes find that you might have interpreted a rule incorrectly, or that you were unknowingly breaking said rule.

Ignorance of the law is no defense for breaking it. The rules are long and detailed for a reason, because they need to cover in specifics what is and is not allowed for the style of play that roleplay needs.

And this mod is about the RP, not just fighting. If you can find a way to RP and get your fights, then by all means do it. It is the immersion into the game that is enjoyable for most players who stay around here. Not the kicks and giggles of those who want to kill online spaceships.

Unfortunately it cannot be avoided. If you want to avoid bans, sanctions and flame avalanches, you need to be a fast learner with a good attitude.

The presence of consequence inspires a lot of cramming... you learn those rules fast enough!

Personally, I feel that the very shadow of the ban hammer is what makes this place as great as it is!

I will say one thing.

To 60% of new players on the server, not registering on the forums equals sanction-wise suicide.
Most of them don't use common sense so not knowing rules is bad for them.

I for one, also did not know the rules when I started out, but I got my head down, used that common sense, and got along fine.

Well in my case i brake rule in moment of weekness because i let other to provoke me so it is clearly my own fault...but i think when u provoke someone or push someone to make crime u are making crime by yourself too . So i clear my head and got lesson for next time but still there is bad taste in my mouth.
And for my passion of cap ships i can`t help it i am just crazy about cap ships not only to fight with em but to RP with em too.
Oh i forgot to say don`t push in someones face RP-ing on this server because is too much case of OORP here. For only a short of time i saw too much exemples of oorp like flying ships with wrong ID, firing on people with no or not enough rp, equiping weapons from hostile factions etc,etc. For only 3 week i saw so much oorp-ing that no1 have right to speak about it...
Even in case i was punished everything start with " Stop or i will shoot and then start shooting at me even if i was stopped and tried to talk ( normally i start running then and after all i was called oorp-er ).

I'm not generalizing for all new players, but note that many of these sanctioned players you are referring to are flying very high end vessels, thus, not new players. Instead, they are players who have been on the server for a long time, but simply refuse to participate on the forums, which may or may not be a correlation to their respect of the server and others on the server.
