This guy said it. I don't think the issue is bringing new people in, we need to give them a reason to stay instead of bashing noobs all the time and driving them away. Sure, there are people who persist through their early stages if they're really determined to invest time and effort, but most of them will just walk away and find another game with a community that doesn't push their nerves to the limit. We should be more understanding and helpful, all of us were in their shoes at some point.

I think the PVP can be a very serious barrier here. There's plenty of people who want to roleplay Bounty Hunters, but they'll die faster than 5 seconds in any given 1 vs 1 engagement. In PVP with a certain person, he or she said that I have a lot of things to improve. I felt seriously disappointed, because I realized all what I had learnt just degenerated into the mess what's my PVP now due to absence of training. The learning curve is just too high. What I can only do is to die less.

Back in 2016 I pushed myself to the levels I was able to kill people who wouldn't expect that (so neither could I). Now, so in the time of that duel in Conn, I am unable to do that anymore. I was on good way to improve in PVP, but the obligatory vacations sorta made that impossible. Now, let's be frank here, not all players really want to spend long weeks in Conn.

In my case, it's not 2013-2015 period anymore in which I could sit at Conn at least hour a day.

"Git gut" is one of the worst memes in here and a lot of new people will not have any chance to deal with so-called PVP Elite. The only ship I relatively can use in PVP is TS-ing Flashpoint Pelican. I am sorry about it people, who hate me for flying such ship, but I have no other means to even stand a chance in PVP nowadays.

I think getting rid of low level armor and simply buffing all hulls by 2.5 and balancing remaining heavy and capital armors to account for it would give new players much required survivability before they either know about how AU8 is mandatory or get enough money for it. I see that as the biggest gameplay flaw that inhibits new player enjoyment in the beginning.

I agree with you, but I am up even for removal of all Armors. They do not serve moneysink role anymore. Like on other thread with @"Sand_Spider", we both agreed that CAU8 is obligatory in capital ship combat. The PVP in case of capital ships might be influenced by skill, but in most cases it is "who put more money into CAU" contest.

Increase prices of all capital ships, simply. That's what I would do to balance out lack of Armor.

The [Helper] guys stationed in penny a few months ago were a very good idea. New players can ask them questions and get quick answers instead of digging forums. Hope they get revived
