Looking good. What's that thing under the front/nose section? Liberty warwolf for glassing planets?

I don't fly Liberty Navy, so my input probably isn't the most pressing, but for my two cents... I really like the look of this ship. A lot of thought and energy clearly went into making this, and regardless of whether or not it gets used, there is something immensely pleasing about watching someone share something they've worked on and that they're good at. So keep up the good work, friend!

Techinically suppose to be a forward prototype shield generator that regens twice as fast as any current shield module in-game. But that is my imagination.

I have nothing against the new model, it does indeed look good I must say
But I still like the 4.85 version
As far as I know Nomad ships got new textures and models, but whoever managed to keep the old ones still have the old models and textures, so I was wondering if we could do the same for the LABC, because some still want the old model. That's just my opinion, and keep up the modelling, looks nice so far.

It's a good model but what's wrong the current one? The current LABC is iconic, and it's hard to imagine not seeing it in the mod anymore.

This is a repetitive question that is rising in all corners whenever this model is presented. Going to make it clear here.

The LABC is an okay model and it's one of the "iconic" ship in Liberty. However, it is lacking so much detail for it to be standing out as, once again, "iconic".

The problem with the ship is that most Textures are not mapped but just unwrapped in different ways that were not taking the time to properly apply them correctly. Few are not even unwrapped to say the worst. "Just slap the texture in the face/normal and walk off." We, 3dmodelers, will not allow that and we will strive to bring out best quality assets for the Discovery Mod and the community out of our voluntary work. Atleast that is how I vision it.

As a matter of fact, i tried to retexture the current model but 80% (+/-) of the mesh normals are not merged with each other - and connecting merging them would be a hassle. It is why I dedicated my full knowledge in creating something good.

As for the current LABC being kept, I do not know if it will be replaced or seize of having a sellpoint. It is up for the Dev Leads.

Let this be known.

Somebody should really pin it somewhere, cos i tired to explain in some chats, why fixing of old models require their redrawing as well.

But uhm, imo in concrete this case, it was questionable decision to go with overlord-type nose instead of reproducing LABC one, its kinda reduce uniquess of ship. But well, its really hard to redraw someone's model with saving same PoV on it, just because two different artists differently see world.

Keep it fine, Felsvar, you doing all good! This mod really need more models from people who understand what they do.

The two ships look very different from one another, so just spitballing here, but wouldn't the best solution be to... make them two different ships? It would make the most sense IC as well as OOC. The Liberty Navy, seemingly perpetually at war and endlessly dedicated to protecting the homefront while standing proud against enemies abroad, have designed a brand new Cruiser to round out their forces. Using technology from both the LABC and the Overlord Dreadnaught, they have combined the best of both worlds in this new addition to the fleet! Cue patriotic propaganda campaign.

Give it a new name, give it LABC stats (or not, if the Devs really want to set it apart, that's a judgement call), and have them both available to purchase. Then everyone wins. If the old one (or indeed the new one) start fading out, then they can be "decommissioned" and retired, but that is a ways down the road.

We do not keep lower quality models when replacements of a significantly higher quality have been made.
