If we cannot argue on the cause of the Council, then what would be Council do for the months that it will be with this blockade still up? It just sits quiet and twiddles it's thumbs while their entire cause of breaking the isolation of Gallia is being destroyed?
I understand this, and part of it is just the logistical difficulty of a new house being incorporated. I am sympathetic to that.
Part of my question, though, is why are we even talking blockade or wanting people to come to Gallia just a couple of days after we - in RP - even find out Gallia exists?

Link please on where they make that clear, that unofficial factions cannot represent a faction in RP. BTW I can relate to your point Trevelyan and I would love to see an official policy on this.
I agree with you Trav... I refuse to go in Gallia for the moment. Too much chaos in there...playerwise.
My main issue with this release is as follow. No faction can become official for a lil while. Yet, any joe and bob indie can go and pick the ship they want to "RP" Gallia.... Problem is, 90% don't know a frikking thing about Gallic RP... So why are we letting those 90% spread the chaos? shouldn't they be restricted like faction proposals are? To prevent any degradation of the Gallic RP and other unlogical things such as the possibility of a lolwutter Gallic BS going into NY to kill lawfuls "because they are red"...
In response to not knowing anything about Gallic RP I have read all of the Gallic faction info, most of the base infocards and most of the news. What more do you want me to know? I agree that many people may not have done this and that they should but why is this a reason to keep those that have from making quality RP?
Agree with valliant, and on the same topic, can people 'RP'ing as Council please stop attacking Junker vessels and actually learn your own damn faction RP. It really shouldn't be that much to ask.
The Council have missions against Junkers, put in by Igiss. Does that mean they are completely OORP?
Yes they don't actively hunt each other but clearly there is some ill will there, probably due to the Junkers being the spy network of the Royalists.
Since the Council has a lot of sympathisers within Gallia, they would no doubt know of that.
That said, none of the members of our group have attacked Junkers (Player Junkers, Mission NPCs are required for reputation)
We did not force anyone into negotiations, as Linkus said BAF came to us.
We did nothing that is in major effect to Council RP. The Lockdown, though not technically enforcible, was lifted, The area around Reunion after a lengthy discussion as to "Why Orkney?" was acknowledged as Council territory.... Things that would have happened whether BAF sent scouts and later, a diplomat, today or two weeks from now.
@Benjamin, who attacked you?
If your talking about Junker NPCs.... theres really no choice on that as thats all we get for Missions.
edit: Linkus, the spy thing is kind of OOC knowledge i think. Cause how would civillians know of military operations?

Tazarus, I'm looking for the thread, but having trouble finding it. What I'm talking about is the Admin policy that there are no official factions until the core systems are released.
As to representation, it's been long understood that only official factions - those who have gone through the process of community review and approval - can actually represent an NPC faction as a whole (and some of them don't even do that). Certainly, you can RP as different groups as long as your RP conforms to the vanilla (or 4.85 "vanilla"), but you couldn't claim to set policy for the entire NPC entity. So things like diplomacy and other interactions with factions don't extend beyond your small group of players. My concern here is that people are declaring themselves as representative of the whole, and it's still premature for that.

I think what is trying to be said is do that as an individual, not as the official view of the Council, because, at the moment, only Igiss has command over that.

The thing about the BAF blockade is that it's somewhat like Zone-21. What is there? We don't know. It could help us win the war, at which point we don't want the Kusari getting there. It could be extremely dangerous, at which point we don't want civilians going there. We have to find out and establish ties with whomever is there first, and that is why the blockade exists. Orkney is like our Zone-21, and it has been Bretonian space since I came to Disco (End of 4.83), technically.
Now, then, enough sidetracking from me.

We are not playing as the entire Council. We negotiated a deal with the BAF as they came to us. We will be delaying the deal for a while to let more people get started in Gallia and have their input, which we welcome gladly.
