Does every thread have to be turned into a your drama thread Eppy?

We get it, you don't like being pirated, there was already a thread about it, you don't need to keep going on about it jeez, you're not the only one whos profit gets cut alot cause of pirates.

It would be really interesting to see character trees of everyone's characters shnowing their relationships in game to one another. I'm rping Tinkerbell as a "diplomat" but they are only "paper credentials" until I develop them in game. Part of my rp is getting people in-character to accept them--not proclaiming that "they are". I count on some of his public history to help open doors but someone can choose to disregard what he presents just as easily. The proof that he is a real diplomat is when he can affect things like one (I just had to talk about me;)).

Once I was pirated twice in the same run by 2 different guys. One was Corsair, the other was Outcast.
The funny thing is the first guy (Corsair) told in Skype to the Outcast to Pirate me in later.
Since then I avoided that system whenever it was not empty

I don't mind paying a few pirates, but two or three a run (or tripling my run time by avoiding lanes) is not enjoyable. Fair Play applies to traders, too, if I have to respect it for the bomber whores. If I start losing huge amounts of money when I'm obviously trading for a reason, then it's the pirate's fault, not mine. Simply put, excessive piracy is griefing, and I don't like griefers.
One question Eppy, why do pirates exist?

And can we get back ontopic? What was it again...

It is problematic if people are messing with things to that extent. I know I try not to get to that point, as all those times trying to kill faction members on other characters would attest to. Though I suppose I do try to get pirated by the LWB whenever I can. It's a good way to test new people, heh.

On that note, if you want to see some interesting conspiracy theories, join both the Junkers Congress and either the AFA or the Black Dragons. That is conspiracyland! :O

What's wrong with that? I have a chart connecting all my characters, actually, and it doesn't really affect anything. Though I suppose it depends on how closely. A bunch of the connections are things like "worked together" and "tried to kill".

Erm, Eppy, Pirates need to make credits, too. And they make much less profits than any trader.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

It wasn't until I joined the .:j:. and BDS that I learned that there was both a junker conspiracy and an anti-junker conspiracy!

On a more serious note, all the stuff outlined in the first post, although I've never seen evidence of it myself, massively sucks. That is why I personally only really play in smaller factions (junkers and baf being grandfathered exceptions, and I try and stay out of the stick-waving in those). Being in the smaller factions is a lot like being an indie, but without the stigma. You actually tend to get looked on positively/sympathetically for playing your little ignored faction. People don't monitor every move you make, people don't mess with you purely for being an indie or being in some dramafaction, you can just go on and do your thing. Plus you also get to know everyone in the faction personally, which improves my enjoyment a lot. Both IC and OOC, that is. BAFs and .:j:.s log on and I have no idea who they are, but if I'm on my VF or or something, I know exactly who the guy is, how old he is, his life story, and what he's been up to recently. I also know who's behind the wheel.

Small factions for life.

And... you think going indy means you won't have to deal with this anymore? That's... entirely wrong. I've never actually seen this happen, granted I'm only in one faction. But this doesn't happen in the LR. In fact the only factions I can think of in Liberty that share the same top people are the LN and Xenos... and I don't think Joe is the kind to use his positions like that.
