Well, I've run into a problem, here. It seems the model is invisible in FreeLancer, except for the engines. o.o
I have no idea why - My savegame is on the Norfolk, which is where the Acolyte is sold normally, so as to easily look at the file and make sure it's working... but the skin's not working, and I have no idea why. I got it to work elsewhere, though.
Anyway, the MS3D is essentially fine. Hopefully somebody else can work it out?
I suppose I can just submit it to Igiss and he'll get it? As I have no idea. It shows up perfectly fine in HardCMP, so I dunno why it doesn't show up in FreeLancer properly. At least it isn't crashing the game, but this is just not cool.
EDIT: Okay, maybe I've found out why... the multiple Materials in Milkshape (due to using parts from at least two different models). It's been fixed, now, in Milkshape. I can upload that model now, as well. I'll also try to import the model into the CMP. We'll see how this works... If it doesn't fix it... I really do have no idea.
I'm also going to tell the exporter to account for all 12 'groups' on the model. Maybe that'll make a difference, as well. Even though I have NO idea how that makes a difference. Seriously, the model i saw in HardCMP should have been the model that ended up being represented in FreeLancer, but apparently things don't want to go my way with this project.

HAH! I figured it out! Silly Shiparch file and the scripting therein. Had to update it. Instead of changing what MAT file it used, I just copied the bw_ships.mat over the hw_s_lf.mat file, and changed how many engine nozzles the game recognized as being on the ship (so all three engines are recognized).
Did some little adjustments of the parts after looking at how they rendered in-game, and now...
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor
Heh... I'll see about remastering another HW ship, at least. I was thinking of the Taiidan "Seejur" Defender (AKA, 'Freighter' according to Discovery), and just about every other fighter that 'constrains' weapon mounts within a pre-defined weapon model. Because, quite frankly, that's unnatural for a FreeLancer ship. Quite stupid of whoever ported the ships to do that. Some of this stuff is clearly weapon mountings, and it should have them literally gutted out before FreeLancer weapons are mounted in them.
(The Taiidan Defender is one, as well as all the Kadeshii fighters. The Turanic Corvette/Freighter needs a bit of work, but to be honest the Turanic craft look pretty damn good from where I stand. I haven't managed to spot a Kushan vessel, but they likely have a few bits and pieces to rend off them)
To be honest, the Bandit (Turanic Raider Fighter) looks like the one that least needs this work. I really think it looks fine as-is. However, a new model wouldn't hurt, I suppose. Provided I can get a proper 'donor' ... honestly, there's nothing to replace the tiger-stripe of the Turanic Raiders, and that's probably one of the coolest things about their paint scheme.
