In the idea I have, the foundations of the mass driver are orbital dropped via automation, then the fine tuning and check-ups are done manually. On a remote planet, is isn't too far-fetched that there would be a way to clear several hundred or less kilometres of track to make a stable mass driver.

Also, the current technology and wikipedia I don't think takes into account of the room temperature superconductors. Also tech in Freelancer is very advanced compared to current tech.

Its simple, make Stations modable, so you can add station guns!

I'm not sure how a 100 kilometer long schlong would benefit stations to be honest.

What does that have to do with the topic at hand?

They are practical, and possible, the real matter is beating out the market share Ageria has established with DSE in TL and JG production. As well as dealing with the matter of mooring fixtures and docking rings.

Its just I have plans for this sort of thing in one of my stories, and I don't want "That isn't possible" sort of thing as feedback, that is if I get any.

Well it could be possible, but really, stories are up to your imagination, you don't really have to be limited by anything.

As far as FL physics(the little of them that exist), would allow Mass Drivers, if they would actually build them, is another matter, but for a story, why not.
