ALG should be building the new generation of ships, there's plenty of rumors on rheinland bases from ALG and Daumann personnel talking about competing for the contracts to build the next line of warships.
Look at the Bergelmir bomber, and it's infocard, as well - it doesnt carry quite the same design as other Rheinland bombers/fighters, and it's infocard reflects that it's a new generation of ship designed with more manuverability in mind.
While I think Rheinland should still keep an overall scheme of 'heavy' ships - focusing on armor and firepower rather than high degrees of manuverability - I dont think it's a bad thing to make their newer ships look more advanced and less like floating bricks.
Battlecruisers are generally considered to be the most technologically advanced ship class, blending the firepower and armor of a battleship with the manuverability and size of a cruiser in order to create a more versatile ship class.
Overall, I like the look of this model, however I do agree that the front end needs some work - it should be more blocky to fit the Rheinland feel better. The rest of the ship looks perfect.
My suggestions:
1. Remove those "tubes" at the front
2. Connect the top and bottom 'half-circle' portions on the front of the ship to form more of a 'nose' - hard to explain really... Make the front of the ship look like a battering ram, more sturdy.
3. On the front of the engine portions towards the back of the ship, each side has 5 circle-things sticking forward... not really sure what those are, probably air intakes, but I would replace them with something more grate-like, right now it has too many circular shapes, needs more angular features.
I really like the submarine-like bridge section, and how you have those four angled weapon mounts coming out of each side though. Like I said, most of the model looks fine for a Rheinland ship, but the things above getting changed would probably make it fit much better.

Correction, thats ALG and Republican competing for the contract to construct the Bremen and her sister ships, who were suppose to be even more powerful then the Westfalen.
And seeing how Alster shipyard has a couple of extra dry docks since vanilla and Dortmund doesn't have any, I'd say Republican won the contract.
I think the front looks Rhienlandish, but the engine doesn't.
On top of that, I doubt Rhienland would build a battlecruiser. They were slaughtered in the 80 year way because they relied on their cap ships, now they use fighters and bombers as their primary attack force.
Quote:13-ARKM-N37 "Fafnir" Bomber
The blow struck against Rheinland following the events of the war of 800 A.S. placed a heavy burden on Rheinland's already struggling economy and military might. With her dearly bought fleets reduced to the broken testament to a curious period in humanity's history it seemed as though little could be gained save a lesson.
One which Rheinland took to heart.
The Fafnir bomber, brought into the field on the immediate brink of a long forseen war is the result of nearly twenty years of studious labor on how to best break the back of a foe's capital fleet... and restore Rheinland's military glory on the field of battle.
It might sound revolutionary, but I think the times when Rheinland was weak and defeated are over. The big eighty ended in 669 A.S. and since this point of time, nearly 150 years passed. If we look at the German Empire, the nation recovered from WWI in only twenty years.
A new era has begun for Rheinland and we should not look back, but to the future. Currently Rheinland is in negotiations with the former enemies to get over the great war and create a common base for a wealthy future. The proud Kusari people aren't our enemies any more, but close partners, when it comes to economy and politics.
Like it has been already said, Battlecruisers are highly developed technological vessels, which break with the current capital shipline, which is more like 'big brick with big guns'. A more sophisticated shipline would be very good for Rheinland. Now we have already big ships with a huge armour and firepower, but nearly no highly advanced and quicker capital ships. This should be changed.

That may be true. But from what I gather from reading info-cards, Rhienlands military strategy relies more on small, manuverable craft rather than Battlecruisers. It's right there in the Fafnirs infocard, the bomber was designed to defeat Liberty's vast capital ship fleet. The amount of Fafnirs you could produce for the cost of one Battlecruiser could bring down an entire Liberty Navy invasion force, where as the Battlecruiser will get torn up by Siege Crusiers which are designed to kill larger vessels, like Rhienland Crusiers.
The problem is: relying on small crafts alone isn't the right way and very shortsighted. A well balanced shipline is the key to success. It might be true, that our current small and fast strike craft are superiour to the Libertonian capital ship fleet, but who knows if we get enemies, who are specialized in destroying our small crafts? I mean... the war with Liberty won't last for eternity.
But I guess we need a special thread for this kind of discussion.
To the model: Jinx, if you could adjust the front section as mentioned, it would suit the philosophy.
quick ideas:
Round thing at the back, i dont think it should be a sphere, keep the same size, but make it a cylinder, sticking with the current Rhineland engine style (what are they? big turbochargers?:P)
also, the bridge would look more rhinelandish if it was placed forward, but i really like the way your model looks where the bridge is now, maybe keep it just to mount turrets on.
texture it green and give it some of those circular turret mounts on the side and it'll fit in well.
the coalition are not getting a battleship, quit asking.
anyhow, regarding rheinland's use of smaller craft... why not add a couple launch tubes onto the front of this thing and turn it into a carrier (in name only, balance it like a battlecruiser should be balanced, or even like the order carrier if you make it larger)? A carrier would support rheinland's swarms of fighters and bombers perfectly.
