I've used table made by sunergos to make my own table in Excel (that program is more familiar). Automated the process of calculating Hull/sec, Shield/sec, Power/sec, added INI rates (1/in-game rate, like in ini files), added INI weapon code, and a new system to calculate efficiency. My formula for efficiency is:

( (Hull/S) / (Power/S) ) * ( (Range/600) * (Speed/600) )

Let me explain.
( (Hull/S) / (Power/S) ) evaluate how energy efficient the weapon is. The more is this number, the better is efficiency. More damage, less power -> more efficient. Less damage, more power -> less efficient.

( (Range/600) * (Speed/600) ) is a value that calculates speed and range multiplier. "Normal" speed and range is 600. I compare speed and range of each weapon with 600 and get a value ranging from 0,8 to 1,5. This value is multiplied by power efficency.

Overall efficiency by this formula ranges from 3,2 (Death's Hand V) to almost 15 (Nomad Energy Blaster). If we exclude nomad and del cid values (these weapons are very energy efficient), range will be from 3,2 to 6,23. Full list of weapons sorted by efficiency, calculated with this formula:

Death's Hand V
Sunfrenzy 3
Natterturn Zwei
Hornviper Mk II
Reaver Mk II
Drake D
Reaver Mk III
Sammael
Ultra Sunrail
Vengeance Mk V
Daito
Magma Hammer IV
Firekiss Mk II
Reaper V
Fury 4
Purple Goddess
Skyblast B
Disinfector 3
Salamanca Mk II
ARCHANGEL
SILVER FIRE
Wyrm Type 2
JADE
SOLARIS
ONYX
BLOODSTONE
PROMETHEUS
Vampire 4
DIAMONDBACK
THOR'S HAMMER
Buckshot
WILD FIRE
IRON HAMMER
Kraken Type 2
GUARDIAN
CERBERUS
DARK BLOSSOM
GOLDEN BLADE
BLUE BLAZE

Please note that values of the last ~10 codenames are nearly equal. Don't think that Blue Blaze is the best weapon in Discovery.

In the beginning, however, difference is more significant.

Also note that this list includes latest changes that I make, so if you calculate the same with current values, result will be slightly different. Note that SOLARIS is a new codename. It's not a mistake. It will be a codename available from wrecks, with stats similar to other codenames.

I like the idea of equal weapons for all factions/ships, I only put that forward because that seemed to be the way vanilla freelancer designed it.

Now I'll go look at the spread sheet:)

should the formula for the velocity and range be inverted? For example, if you apply that formula to the solaris chain gun, it drops to the bottom of the chart... unless i've messed something up, which is totally possible. I would think that the damage over a greater range, at a highter velocity, should make it more efficient rather than less...

Wow very helpful! This is going to greatly improve the balance issuse of the guns. I will also use this table for reference in the future!

Yes sunergos, you are right. I've corrected the formula in my post. Should be Range/600 and Speed/600. Used the correct formula for XLS, but messed it up here.

Anyone else think a shield busting codename would be cool?
