Near Juggernaut size you say?

If it is, then, I don't see the use in making it require special RP. Mainly because, the other houses have large battleships, but they don't have the same restrictions.

The Juggernaut also, being bigger than all of those and belonging to a muuuuuch smaller organisation doesn't need a special RP.

I like the idea, that's about it really, do some drawings and think of stuff that you could do with that till you feel like modelling the thing I guess, the post was mainly about the other bit. DUN DELEET PLX.

This is my signature.

Because it isn't possible to make a superbattleship just because you can make 2 battleships? Guess we could make a SuperBretFighter able to single-handedly rape the entire Kusari Navy, just because we can make many different kinds of fighters and bombers...

Logic, you're failing at it.

Dab, my point was simply to demonstrate that from a purely tactical basis, it makes sense to have this ship.
I mean, all your capital ships are being raped by the enemy Battleships.

What do you do?
A) Nothing - Lose
B) Produce more ships! - Probably lose
C) Build a ship better than their Battleship - Probably win

Honestly, it's like WW1 Infantry charges and Machine gun emplacements.
The Infantry are Bretonian Battleships, the Machine guns are Kusari Battleships.
Yes you can throw in the infantry in huge numbers and maybe win but it would be far more efficient to send in a tank or two instead.
That tank is this.

Thank you.

Also, my BAF brainstormers have decided that several of these ships already exist; they've been held in reserve because they are monstrously large and expensive and were being hidden, kept in reserve as a last-ditch defensive play; it is now to their advantage to bring them out of the veil and frag everything, now that the situation is really, really desperate. Or something. We don't honestly care, because we have a list of half a dozen other ships with more questionable histories than that that are already in the mod.

hm - yes... questionable history... and we still suffer from it.

no one really says that it was brilliant to give zoners for example two battleships. - but now we have to deal with it - sometimes in rude accusations from people that like zoners to fly dromedaries still. - not long ago, there were heated discussions about the BHG having such big ships "when they are only bounty hunters"... .

all that are leftovers from "not too farsighted decisions to give a faction certain ships".

the only houses that can come up with such "superdreadnoughts" are ( in my opinion ) ... the GRN and maybe liberty in the form of one single special RP flagship.

however - i won t be able to stop you from doing it anyway or convince you if your decision is set already. - the arguments why it may be problematic and questionable in RP even have been presented. - the rest is upon you - and hopefully upon the future community that deals with it.

Why not make a new ship, scale it to be similar to the Kusari BS.. then downgrade the current Bretonian BS into a BC.

Downgrade? Evil.

This new dreadnought should be a slow, massive monster.
Like, something Sirius has never seen. Twin siege cannons, twenty turrets besides... it should be the deathstar, the end game, the ace in the hole, etc....

Heh, it should even have a special reduced speed.

In my opinion.

Well Bretonia does indeed have all heavyest ships except the BS, so i'd guess this new one would beat the Juggernaut, just as Sprolf described it.

A simple end-game move for any other capital ship.

Regardless of whether or not the ship comes into production Bretonia is at war, and nations at war will always be in a state of research and development with the aim of victory.

Or...you could balance the current Bret BS?

Instead of cementing the normal BS as an obsolete hunk and bloating the mod further with some new 'dreadnaught' thing (that, as I understand it, will wipe its tuhus with the Kusari BS, leading to cries for A SUPER KUSARI DEATH STAR PLZ), why not try to fix what we've already got to work with?

Please realize that I'm not criticizing the model itself - it looks pretty good actually. But unless it becomes available by Admin-approval only, and there's truly only ONE, then no. As bad as the Bret BS is, I see people flying that thing regularly; god knows how many of these things will be out in space as soon it hits the open market.

Or what mb52 said.
