Can I request that the mods hold off deleting threads for a little while. I have a couple of ideas.

I've been going through from oldest to newst and have found some threads from 2005 that I'd like to keep onthe board.

I suggest the "master list" for keeping, be taken from Post # 12 for checking. I'm current;y up to 2008 so there really isn't alot of what *I* think we should keep, compared to what can be deleted.

Also I propose that we bring those listed threads forward (all it needs is one post). Then you can delete the oldest without much regard to what the threads are. I'm willing to do that one post if you want/allow someone to do it. Might be a good thing to set a time deadline for thread submissions. Say by Friday server time? (four-ish days by my count.)

I don't see any reason why they should. The link is just text. The pictures being stored elsewhere have little bearing on the sites textual post limit.

I would like to keep the Book.

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

First off I just wanted to say its a good thing that the forums are going to get cleaned up. They have gotten quite clogged with alot of rubbish and useless material.

Quote:We will also be removing all attachments present on the board beginning 2 weeks from now, so please back up all your stuff stored as attachments on the forum, and track your important posts that rely on attached images or other files.

Aren't all avatars uploaded from our computers atached to the forums? If so, we are going to see alot of errored avatars...

Also. Signatures. Of course most of us have them uploaded on imageshack but the coding? Will that be wiped? If so we all need to back that up onto notepad to save time rewriting them out.

Avatars are attachments (theoretically), but we won't remove them. Signatures will remain intact as well.

Does our Post counts go down when the threads/posts are deleted may I ask?

The post count will stay the same. If I am not mistaken, your post count rises +1 per post, just a simple addition to the user table.
But when deleting threads and posts does not affect the user table. Would be rediculous if your posts are counted every page reload, wouldn't it?

If it's stored elsewhere and the only thing here is a link, then no, there is no size limit.

We're not jumping on this to start today - or even this weekend. PM's are what's going away first, then we'll start in deleting things en masse after that - probably starting some time next week or weekend.

And again, the issue per se is not with the threads - it's with the number of pages. Some of those nice flood threads have hundreds of pages. Chances are - the topic MAY be kept, but most of the content WILL be deleted. So again - it's flood. You want it, keep it somewhere else.

And old sales things, non-RP related things - it's probable those will go away. It is YOUR responsibility to back up anything you want kept - not ours.

Right.

So no starting with PM's until this weekend? (I need to keep some for a couple of days until a few things are sorted, so I need to know.)
